Dressed in costumes that represented the colors of the flag of the United Arab Emirates, Little Mix made what is already being called a brave and iconic political statement right in the middle of their set last night at The Assembly, a massive, government-approved open air concert being held in the center of UAE’s capital, Dubai.
During their set, the girls of Little Mix made a decision to perform “Secret Love Song Part II,” a track that is often referred to as the Little Mix’s tribute to its loyal LGBTQ fans. Since its release, the song has at times been taken up as an anthem by the LGBTQ community in the UK.
To leave no question about its intentions in performing the song, the group also had a massive image of the rainbow LGBTQ flag projected onto the stage behind it during the middle of the song.
