Either Kendall Jenner didn’t learn anything from her ballet scandal, or she just doesn’t care. The model is stepping into unfamiliar territory on behalf of a magazine yet again. This time, she’s enlisted BFF and fellow model Gigi Hadid to help recreate iconic pieces of performance art for W Magazine.
“When you’re a model, you’re a mannequin for other people,” Kendall says in the tongue-in-cheek video. “I want to be a director of my own vision now.” Kendall also says her “soul is being an artist.”
In the short vid, Kendall pays homage to performance art legends like Yoko Ono, Yves Klein and Marina Abramovic as Gigi tags along to help out. But Kendall can’t quite seem to perfectly recreate any of the pieces. Quite the contrary, Kendall’s attempts in the unique genre are comic imitations of the originals. But that’s kind of the point.
At the end of the video, Kendall teases what her first original performance art piece will be titled: “I’m thinking, ‘The Selfie.'”
The new video comes hot off the heels of Kendall and Gigi doing “screen test” interviews for the same publication.
Check out Kendall’s recreations below, plus a vid of outtakes where she and Gigi can’t keep a straight face.
