The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, One Direction, Katy Perry and Sam & Cat are among the top nominees at the 27th annual Kids’ Choice Awards. This year’s fan-voted event will be hosted by Mark Wahlberg.
The Kids’ Choice Awards take place Saturday, March 29, from 8-9:30 PM ET/PT at the University of Southern California’s Galen Center. The Big Bang Theory competes against Good Luck Charlie, Jessie and Sam & Cat in the favorite TV show category.
Notable music nominees include One Direction, Katy Perry, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez. Niall told THR: ‘To be nominated for two awards at this year’s Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards is just incredible!’

Nickelodeon star Drake Bell, 26, has filed for bankruptcy owing $581,000, reports TMZ. He lists the value of his house at $1.575 million, but owes $1.597 million on it. He makes $2,820 a month, but his expenses are $18,771. In 2012 he made $408,000 but the next year he made just $14,099.
Jennette McCurdy BELLO photographs + NAKED Magazine interview excerpts. Jennette booked a one-episode guest role on Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101. ‘Even from that one episode I started to get recognized in public.’
Two years after Zoey 101, a producer at Nickelodeon remembered Jennette and wanted to cast her in their new project, iCarly. ‘Within six months of the show airing, I couldn’t leave my house without being recognized.’
When iCarly wrapped productions, Jennette had no idea Sam & Cat would soon be in the works. She had heard that Nickelodeon wanted to develop a show for her a year before iCarly ended, but tried not to take the rumor too seriously.
‘Until you actually go and shoot something, nothing is for sure. That’s my mentality.’ When she was first approached with the idea of Sam & Cat, she didn’t like the idea of playing Sam Puckett again. ‘I did not want to play Sam anymore, I was over it. I’m sarcastic and blunt enough in real life that I wanted to do something different.’

Nickelodeon’s hit live-action series Sam & Cat continued its ratings momentum with the Saturday (1/18/14) hour-long premiere of ‘#TheKillerTunaJump: #Freddie #Jade #Robbie’, drawing 4.8 million total viewers and ranking as Nick’s highest-rated telecast with Kids 6-11 (10.5/2.1M) since 2012.
The special episode, which reunited some of the stars from recent Nick live-action hits iCarly and Victorious, posted double and triple-digit gains and averaged a 8.0/2.6M (+92%) with Kids 2-11, 10.5/2.1M (+109%) K6-11 and 8.8/1.8M (+97%) Tweens 9-14. The telecast also posted increases with total viewers, up +93% over last year.
Sam & Cat has kicked off 2014 on a high note. In the first two weeks of the year, the series scored back to back wins as the number-one entertainment program with Kids 2-11 and Kids 6-11.
