The E! Network can breathe easy Monday morning as “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” has returned, with its 14th season debuting on Sunday night. The season premiere was supposed to give Kendall Jenner a chance to share her experience of the massive blowback created by her controversial Pepsi ad. Social media users, however, refused to let her off the hook.

After her controversial Pepsi ad, Kendall Jenner may come off as a fashion puppet. But the supermodel looked like she was out to prove what a real puppet looks like in new first looks at a her latest modeling work with Love Magazine. Katie Grande, Love’s Editor in Chief, shared a pic of a photoshoot in progress via Instagram. In the shot, Kendall is sipping on some iced coffee while she poses with Kermit the Frog.
More pics from the shoot surfaced online after that, showing Kendall with Miss Piggy and members of Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem, The Muppets’ band featuring Animal the drummer.
Love Magazine is a big Kendall fan. The publicaiton even let her step behind the camera to shoot some other models for covers earlier in 2017. The project with The Muppets seems like an attempt to subtly prove that Kendall pulls her own strings and that there’s no one’s hand up her backside.

Kendall Jenner’s Pepsi ad was so bad, the company pulled it and issued an official apology for putting her “in this position.” The spot, which had Kendall playing nice with police at a glamorized protest, has been nearly universally condemned by actual protestors and many in the media. While Kendall’s friends appear to be in mourning over the state of her career, this isn’t the first firestorm Kendall’s been through. Even though it often feels like she’s just getting started, Kendall’s got a habit of making waves–even when she’s not trying to rock the boat.
Kendall Jenner is doing some serious damage control after starring in and promoting the controversial Pepsi commercial that was met with public backlash for its tone-deaf message. The beverage brand quickly pulled the commercial and issued an apology to the public and Kendall Jenner for putting her in the position it did.
Almost 24 hours after releasing its problematic and ill-advised commercial starring Kendall Jenner, Pepsi has pulled it’s ad. Although hiring the least woke member of the Kardashian/Jenner clan should’ve been enough indication that the ad wasn’t a good idea, it was the widespread backlash that forced Pepsi to issue an apology on Wednesday afternoon.
In a new commercial that’s being almost universally condemned as “tone-deaf,” Kendall Jenner has set the stage for a social media firestorm. In a desperate bid to connect with the current youth culture of political protest and resistance, Pepsi had Kendall break away from a high fashion photo shoot, change her outfit and join a street march.
Kendall then becomes the protestors’ de facto leader as she breaks through the crowd to come face-to-face with a line of police. As a photographer in a hijab snaps pics, Kendall hands the officer a can of Pepsi and all of the world’s problems are solved.
Kendall and Pepsi got roasted for the ad on social media, as users mocked the ad’s simplistic worldview and the use of political protest as a backdrop to sell a product. The prominent, token-style placement of people of color in the ad wasn’t enough to stem the tide of criticism.
