Kesha may have been snubbed when it came to handing out trophies, but she had her moment on stage at the 2018 GRAMMYs on Sunday night. Kesha was joined by Camila Cabello, Andra Day, Julia Michaels, Bebe Rexha, Cyndi Lauper and an entire choir for a performance of “Praying,” her Grammy-nominated song that is all about her feelings for someone who wronged her.

Kesha is coming to the 2018 GRAMMYs stage. A new message from the Recording Academy has her listed as one of several new performers added to the previous yawn-inducing show. With Lady Gaga, P!nk, Childish Gambino and Little Big Town already on the bill, Kesha is one of several additions that promise to spice things up.
Kesha’s holy war for the soul of the music industry is continuing in a big way. The singer hit the world with a one-two punch of new music as she brought down the house with “Praying” on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and dropped a music video for “Rainbow,” the title track off her new album.
Kesha’s “Tonight Show” performance marked her return to late night TV following the lengthy and ongoing legal battle with Dr. Luke. She also hung around to join NPR stalwart Terry Gross in a dazzling display of not knowing Snoop Dogg’s catchphrases during a game of Password.
The music video for “Rainbow” documents her flexing her vocals during the live studio recording of the track. The song features Ben Folds on piano and Kesha looking like a healthy, pastel-haired Amy Winehouse.
All of it comes as Kesha’s new album is officially out now. It drops with an accompanying letter from Kesha, in which she explains how she wrote the song during her eating disorder rehab and lays out her message for the entire project. Kesha celebrated the release rocketing to number one on iTunes with her fans on Instagram.

After a drawn-out legal battle that saw several twists and turns, Kesha has finally returned to music. While she didn’t get her way in her case against alleged sexual assailant Dr. Luke, it looks like Kesha is ready to try the case in the court of public opinion.
“Praying” is the first track from of her new album, “Rainbow.” The piano ballad is a confessional full of her hopes for Dr. Luke now. Kesha sings to someone who “put me through hell,” saying she hopes whoever it is is praying and that his “soul is changing.” Kesha wrote about the new track and her journey at length in a new Lenny Letter.
“I have channeled my feelings of severe hopelessness and depression, I’ve overcome obstacles, and I have found strength in myself even when it felt out of reach,” she writes. “This song is about coming to feel empathy for someone else even if they hurt you or scare you.”
An official video dropped simultaneously with the track. It’s full of Kesha in evocative situations like fighting off pig men in a bed, being stranded at sea and praying at a few colorful altars. At the end, she goes full-on Christ-like as she heads towards a rainbow in the distance.
