In an article from a former Editor-in-Chief at the publication, Billboard has been accused of effectively taking a bribe from Lady Gaga in order to name her its 2015 “Woman of the Year.” The piece draws on a letter Prince published before his death. In that letter to Billboard editor Janice Min, an unnamed staffer resigns due to several scandals, including an allegation that Gaga bought her “Woman of the Year” honor. The new article goes on to claim that Billboard is colluding with Mother Monster again to make “Perfect Illusion” a hit.

Nick Jonas attended the second annual National Concert Day last night in New York. While the “Close” singer did not perform, but he did have some words about the recent loss of Prince.
Recently, Nick paid homage to Prince at the New Orleans Jazz Fest. In a backstage interview at last night’s event, Nick talked more about the late singer. He reflected on his past experience with his side band, Nick Jonas & The Administration, which included three former bandmates of Prince’s New Power Generation in the mid-90’s.

Weeks after his death, Rolling Stone recently released a “lost cover story” on the late music icon Prince. The interview was done in 2014 at Paisley Park and featured the singer talking about the state of music. What started off as a fairly simple exchange ended with some unforgettable comments about Justin Bieber and Chris Brown.
Selena Gomez called in to Sacramento radio station NOW 100.5 and revealed the impact Prince had on her music. “Prince had a little bit of influence on my songs when we were in the studio,” she said about the late singer. “Just the texture of how unique his voice is, I wanted to have a little bit of that in ‘Hands To Myself.'”
The singer even discussed her name and how it tied her to another late singer, Selena Quintanilla. “My name was going to be Priscilla,” Selena admitted. “So they actually loved her music and they just named me after her. It’s so surreal, I grew up and I went to her grave, I got to go to her house,” she added.

Last night, Beyoncé kicked off “The Formation World Tour” in Miami and the singer not only dedicated a song to her husband — and rumored subject of “Lemonade” — but paid tribute to the late singer Prince.
The singer performed “Purple Rain” while the crowd sang along. She later paid tribute to Vanity 6’s Vanity with a mash-up of “Nasty Girl” and “Blow.”
The singer also performed a choreographed dance routine to a song with lyrics that sound a lot like “Fuck Donald Trump.”

The music world has been mourning the loss of Prince the way it knows how: through music. Ellie Goulding returned for the second weekend of Coachella, and she performed a few measures from “When Doves Cry.” The singer continued on to perform several songs from her own catalogue.
Ellie wasn’t the only one to bring Prince tributes to the music festival. Jack Ü, LCD Soundsystem, Sufjan Stevens and Mavis Staples were also among the musicians to honor the late icon.
