Taylor Swift effectively outlawed bad press for her album when it dropped, but that hasn’t stopped articles about her poor tour sales from getting published. Taylor apparently didn’t like what the New York Post had to say about her inability to sell out a single show on the “Reputation World Tour,” and has added seven new gigs to prove a point.
Taylor Swift was all set to make her “Reputation World Tour” her most profitable yet. Aware of the high demand her shows would generate, the singer even teamed up with Ticketmaster for a Verified Fan program that would give diehard Swifties the first chance to score access.
But that appeared to only put fans in line for tickets they couldn’t afford, as prices for the new stadium run are well above what Taylor charged on “The 1989 World Tour.” Now, an anonymous industry source is saying the entire plan is backfiring as Taylor isn’t selling out shows as expected.
