Halsey sat down with Rolling Stone to discuss her new album. In an excerpt of the interview published Monday, she has a lot to say about what fans should expect from “hopeless fountain kingdom,” where the music is coming from and where it might go. Halsey recognizes that “Badlands,” her debut album, “wasn’t supposed to be a radio album.” She’s proud to call herself “alternative,” saying, “I think in 2017 the word ‘alternative’ means alternative pop.” But the “alternative” tag isn’t going to stop Halsey from hoping her new album will generate some radio success.
Ed Sheeran is the cover star of Rolling Stone’s March issue and the singer is holding nothing back–especially when it comes to his dating life. Ed is currently dating Cherry Seaborn, who he’s known since high school, but Ed admits that at one point in his life he bedded many different women. Most of whom were Taylor Swift’s friends.
“I was this 22-year-old awkward British kid going on tour with the biggest artist in America, who has all these famous mates. It was very easy,” the singer admits. “I would often find myself in situations just kind of waking up and looking over and being like, ‘How the fuck did that happen?'” Those days of hopping from one bed to another are over now that the singer has been dating Cherry for over a year and the singer’s happiness can be heard on his new album “Divide.”
Noah Cyrus has offered up a video with a new version of her debut single, “Make Me (Cry)” featuring Labrinth. The update has all of the electronic effects stripped out as Noah and Labrinth duet live with just an electric keyboard. The same day the video launched, Noah talked with Rolling Stone about starting her musical career and the best advice big sister Miley Cyrus has given her.
“Miley always says, ‘Don’t ever look yourself up or read your comments, ’cause you’re gonna see stuff that you don’t want to see,'” Noah says. “That’s the best advice ever. If it’s making me happy, then it’s working.”
