Miley Cyrus recently sat down with Ryan Seacrest to discuss her comeback single, “Malibu.” The singer dished on her improbable return to her wholesome roots from her edgy image, but she also laid out an important rule of her creative process. For Miley, solitude is a blessing.
After explaining how she takes influences from everyone she’s worked with, Miley said, “The less people around when I’m being creative, the better.” Miley wants to be her own “one-stop shop” when it comes to writing and recording new music.
Miley offered up an example of what that looks like as she shared a story about a dream. In her sleep, Miley was riding in a car with little sister Noah Cyrus when a song came on the radio. Miley immediately recognized it, but was shocked to find it didn’t actually exist after she woke up. So, she wrote it herself.
Miley also addressed her newfound move back towards her family’s country music ties. Apparently, Miley is hoping that her new vibes will help her win over some country singer that would otherwise end up on Team Blake Shelton on the next season of “The Voice.”

Demi Lovato’s still working off of her old music. Just after performing “Confident” at the Time 100 Gala, Demi’s now asking fans to submit covers of the song for a new, Ryan Seacrest-produced YouTube series called “Best. Cover. Ever.” The new competition hosted by Ludacris gives fans a chance to meet artists whose songs they cover.
Demi jumped in front of the world’s worst green screen for a special video call for submissions. In it, Demi revealed that the winner earns a trip to L.A. to perform with her and will appear in an exclusive YouTube video. Ryan added that submitted covers should be as original as possible and it seems like bonus points go to unexpected genres and styles.

Miley Cyrus’s musical resurgence is picking up steam. Ryan Seacreast announced live on the radio Friday morning that Miley is joining a star-studded lineup for the 2017 Wango Tango Festival. Billed as a a “Special Guest Performance,” Miley is joining the likes of Katy Perry, Camila Cabello and her younger sister, Noah Cyrus.
So far, Miley’s musical 2017 has included a collaboration with The Flaming Lips, but not much else. She’s got until May 16 to make something new for her performance. But maybe she’ll just be joining one of the other performers on stage?
“Cyrus vs. Cyrus” may be mama Tish Cyrus’ new TV show, but could “Cyrus + Cyrus” be coming to Wango Tango?

Lady Gaga stopped by “On Air With Ryan Seacrest” on Tuesday morning. She talked Super Bowl buzz, physical training for touring and “Joanne,” her upcoming album. Aside from playing a stripped down, live version of “Perfect Illusion” and a snippet from the previously unheard “Just Another Day,” Gaga talked a lot about what went into Joanne. Like her other albums, “Joanne” was born out of an artistic concept coming through Gaga’s pop sensibilities.
Ryan Seacrest hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of a Ryan Seacrest Foundation broadcast studio inside of Nashville’s Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, and Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance.
“She infused so much joy into the entire hospital community,” Ryan tells People Magazine.
The children put on a performance for Taylor, and were left with goodie bags put together by the “Bad Blood” singer.
