Harry Styles Sets Historic First As Debut Film, Album And Single All Go Number One

Harry Styles Sets Historic First As Debut Film, Album And Single All Go Number One featureHarry Styles has a one-of-a-kind distinction to add to his resume moving forward. He’s become the first artist in history to have his debut single, album and film all go to the top of the charts.

A new report from ET Canada asserts that Harry earned the honor after “Dunkirk” stayed at number one for a second week after taking over the box office in its premiere weekend.

Harry Styles Sets Historic First As Debut Film, Album And Single All Go Number One tweet“Sign of the Times,” Harry’s debut solo single after One Direction, went number one on the U.K. singles chart. It only made it to number four in the U.S., but Harry’s self-titled debut album was top of the charts in the U.S., the U.K. and at least a dozen other countries.

Given his latest achievement with a number-one film, Harry just might be the sign of the times himself.

Harry Styles Announces His Tour’s All-Queer, Anti-Trump Opening Act

Harry Styles Announces His Tour's Opening Act: An All-Queer, Anti-Trump L.A. Three-Piece featureHarry Styles is putting his money where his mouth is when it comes to advocating for the LGBTQ community. The singer, who has refused to label his own sexuality, is apparently eager to make his upcoming “Sign of the Times Tour” a safe and friendly space for his fans from under the rainbow. To help him make that happen, Harry’s recruited Muna as an opening act.

The Los Angeles band all identify as queer and make a point of never using gendered pronouns like “he” or “she” in pop love songs. The band members, Naomi McPherson, Katie Gavin and Josette Maskin, also reportedly insist on having gender-neutral bathrooms at shows they play. And the band’s fans love them for it.

The group have also been vocal opponents of President Donald Trump. Muna made headlines after Katie, the group’s lead singer, made some changes to a song for a live performance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

Harry tweeted his announcement regarding Muna, and the band got a big boost in traffic on its Twitter account. “Oh hi there, world,” the band wrote in a tweet following Harry’s “Nice to meet you.” The group has already started reaching out to Harry’s U.K. fans with its political agenda, as well.

Harry Styles Debuts More New Music As He Preps For Album Release With Today Show Concert

Harry Styles Preps For Album Release With Today Show Concert featureHarry Styles stopped by “Today” on Tuesday morning to kick off the show’s summer concert series. For the first of the 2017 Citi Concert Series on the morning show, Harry brought out another new track from his up-coming self-titled album. The One Direction singer debuted “Carolina” for a lively crowd in New York.

The song is another entry from Harry’s Britpop/classic rock aesthetic. Complete with jangling guitar and plenty of “la, la, la,” the track is about a “good girl” who has Harry feeling some kind of way.

Harry also pulled out “Sign of the Times” and “Ever Since New York” before getting up close and personal with some fans who drove 11 hours to see him. One fan even had “STYLES” written in permanent marker on her forehead, much to host Matt Lauer’s chagrin.

Harry sat down with host Hoda Kotb to discuss his new album and how personal the project has been. The new album is due out on May 12.

Harry Styles Channels His Inner Mary Poppins For “Sign Of The Times” Music Video

Harry Styles Channels His Inner Mary Poppins For Sign Of The Times Music Video featureHarry Styles is trying to get his solo career to lift off with a new music video for his debut single, “Sign of the Times.” The visual has the singer soaring the wilderness and into the sky as he delivers his trademark dour facial expressions. Harry leaned into the windswept vibe for the video, rocking a long coat and letting what’s left of his hair flow in the breeze.

The video might put viewers in mind of another famous British songbird, though. Namely, Julie Andrews in her role Mary Poppins, the singing nanny who could fly with the help of her magical umbrella. It could be another hint from Harry about his Hollywood interests.

Fans were feeling the Mary vibes, as well. A few pointed out the similarities, and one even hoped Mary might fly in some Harry Styles concert tickets.

Check out Harry’s new video below, plus see some of the fan reactions.

Is this video supercalifragilisticexpialidocious? Or would a spoonful of sugar help it go down?
