Syco Splits With Little Mix and Simon Cowell Goes Public with his Side of the Story

Simon CowellAfter months of rumors that Little Mix’s reps are unhappy about the group’s arrangement with Syco, Simon Cowell’s music and production company, Simon has reportedly made a decision to tear up Syco’s contract going forward and end his business relationship with the group. That is a huge and somewhat surprising move for Syco, as Little Mix — at the time of the business breakup — was by far the most valuable act in Syco’s stable.

But in an interview with The Sun, Simon said that the decision was not a financial one. He and his team felt that the relationship with Little Mix’s reps, Modest Management, had become so toxic and unprofessional that he had no choice.   Continue Reading →

Louis Tomlinson On The Entertainment Industry: “You Can Get Swallowed Up In The Glitz And The Glam Of It All”

Louis Tomlinson Talks Musical Roots, Crazy One Direction Nights And The Girl Band He's Starting featureLouis Tomlinson sat down for another in-depth interview about his life before, during and after One Direction. This one wasn’t quite as depressing as his previous Q&As, but he did pour on the blue collar charms in the new piece from Noisey. The airport warrior had a lot to say about his childhood, his time in 1D and what he’s up to now–even if the interviewer had to coax it out of him.

“I was never what you’d call ‘book smart’,” he said says smoking one of several menthol cigarettes he lit up during the interview. “What used to piss my mum off is that I could have been. I was that classic one from school who everyone said wasn’t going to reach their full potential because they lark about too much.”

Louis discussed starting out in music with a Green Day tribute band and claimed he auditioned for “The X Factor” to spite his bandmates when they replaced him with a new singer. Despite his success on the world stage, he said he still places a lot of value in what people from his hometown think. He even seeks out their opinions on his latest work to ground himself and to escape the fake niceties of his California life.

Louis Tomlinson And Liam Payne Reunite On Benefit Single For London Tower Fire Victims

Louis Tomlinson And Liam Payne Reunite For Benefit Single For London Tower Fire Victims featureHalf of One Direction is reuniting for charity. A new interview with Simon Cowell confirmed that Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne will both be teaming up with their old “X Factor” mentor to help victims of the Grenfell Tower fire. Dozens of people are dead or presumed so after the London apartment building caught fire this week.

While protests happen in the U.K. capital, Liam and Louis are teaming up with Simon in an effort to help those displaced by the fire. British Prime Minister Theresa May has been criticized for an unimpressive response to the tragedy, so it looks like Simon is bringing his 1D lads in to show her how it’s done.

Other stars attached to the benefit project so far include Louisa Johnson, Emeli Sandé, James Arthur, Craig David, London rappers Skepta and Stormzy and legendary U.K. rock band The Who.

Simon says the supergroup is putting out a version of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” by Simon & Garfunkel on Monday.

Are you impressed that Louis and Liam are stepping up for charity?
