Fifth Harmony may have been a big winner at Saturday night’s Kids’ Choice Awards, but the ladies weren’t the only ones. Selena Gomez beat out a crowded field of superstars to take home the coveted “Favorite Female Singer” award, topping the likes of Adele, Beyoncé, Rihanna and Ariana Grande.
Zendaya confirmed suspicions that she’s running the game for actresses in kids’ shows. After making her case for best-dressed on the orange carpet, she took home the trophy for “Favorite Female TV Star.”
Most of the movie and TV winners came from animated hits like “SpongeBob SquarePants” and spirited sequels like “Finding Dory.” “Suicide Squad” nabbed another trophy to put next to its Oscar. Meanwhile, the rest of the music categories had some interesting results.
In what Taylor Swift might consider a PR win, Calvin Harris beat out a bevy of Justin Bieber collaborators to earn a blimp for “Favorite DJ/EDM Artist.” The Chainsmokers and Meghan Trainor both took two losses. And Little Mix made a case for itself as a global phenomenon.
