After the deluge of negative media attention that followed her doughnut make out session last week, pop diva Ariana Grande finally got some positive press with the news of her big screen debut in the film Zoolander 2.
Last week, Ariana was forced to issue multiple apologies for a leaked security video which showed her licking doughnuts, being rude to donut shop staff, and saying some not so nice things about America.
Susan Sarandon was one of the few celebrities that came to the pop star’s defense. In a series of tweets, the actress said that people need not jump on Ariana as much as they need to start being concerned about what’s in the food supply, even going so far as to suggest that Americans should “lick a doughnut in solidarity with [Ariana Grande].”
For all you concerned about #DonutGate, I suggest you Google Roundup, Monsanto & GMOs & put your angst into something really threatening.

In an interview with Vulture, Susan explained her tweets and revealed that Ariana will be making a cameo appearance in the already heavily-promoted Zoolander sequel. “Well, I just worked with her. We did Zoolander 2 together, in Rome. She couldn’t be more professional or sweet,” she said. “She’s smart, and she’s a really great, very talented person. It’s just ridiculous they’re jumping on her the way they are.”
In addition to Ariana, Justin Bieber will also be making a cameo appearance in the film that is being written and directed by Ben Stiller and is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on February 12, 2016.
Do you think Susan Sarandon is right and that the public has been too harsh with Ariana over the donut shop incident?
