DNCE went back to school for a day and popped up at Temple University on Wednesday. The group was in Philadelphia to perform at Owlchella. Before hitting the stage, the members made a surprise visit to the school’s Tuttleman Learning Center where a Social Media Marketing class was taking place.
“Basically, Republic Records reached out to me to do something fun with DNCE on campus, and as a Joe Jonas lover myself, of course I said yes,” said UMG College & Lifestyle Marketing Representative, Ian Aubry.
Temple News reports that the band pretended to be foreign exchange students before the real students began to figure out who the group actually was. “I thought it would be great for students to see how real world activations and engagements create social buzz,” said Matthew Ray, the class professor. His plan worked because many photos began circulating on Twitter and Snapchat as a result.
