Lady Gaga is staying busy. Even though she hasn’t been super active promoting her music, her latest interview gives Gaga a chance to speak on the other big part of her art: her style. Gaga spoke with Vanity Fair about being the face of Tiffany & Co.’s new jewelry line.
“It’s different and elegant,” Gaga said of the new “HardWear” collection. “But it’s not what you would expect of elegance. That’s like me I think—I’m a bit different.” Who does Gaga credit for helping her discover her unique fashion sense?
“I’m so fascinated with my mother as a style icon,” she said. “She handled our life, and my father’s life, with so much dignity and grace. She carries whatever she wears like a queen. My mother has this undeniable ability to lead with kindness—it’s her strength, stealth, and power.”
Gaga also sat down to hype the new jewelry in a video for Tiffany. She discussed “the misconception” that a woman can’t buy her own jewelry and “put it on with dignity.”
The new line, which was “inspired by a unisex design from 1971″ according to Tiffany’s site, seems like it would be right at home at a swanky cocktail party or on stage at a drag show. It might even be hardcore enough for a Metallica concert.
