Time released its annual Time 100 list this week and, in typical fashion, each member who made the influential cut had an essay penned by a fellow celebrity. Rihanna was among those honored and Adele was charged with the task of writing a tribute.

Ed Sheeran now has the honor of saying that he is on the same level as Demi Lovato because he too has been named among Time’s 100 Most Influential People. Like Demi, the singer had a letter written about him. Unlike Demi, Ed’s letter was written by friend Taylor Swift.
For her letter, Taylor spoke to Ed’s ability to bounce back after moments of failure. “He’s like a fighter who pops back up on his feet before you even noticed he’d been knocked down,” Taylor wrote. “A few years ago, in a rare moment of admitting feeling defeated, Ed said to me, ‘I’m never going to win a Grammy.'”
The singer went on to retell the story of how she heard the Grammy Award-winning track “Thinking Out Loud” for the first time just a few weeks after that conversation. “Congratulations to my friend Ed, for the legacy you’ve already built and the brilliant hook you probably just came up with five minutes ago.”

Ariana performed “Dangerous Woman” and “Leave Me Lonely” from her upcoming album. She dedicated “Dangerous Woman” to all of the dangerous women in the room, and gave a special shoutout to Nicki Minaj. Ariana said she thinks of her “Bang Bang” collaborator as a “sister.”
