Poot Lovato Named One Of TIME Magazine’s “Most Influential Fictional Characters”

Poot-LovatoIf Demi Lovato wanted her “sister” Poot Lovato to disappear, she’s going to have to wait a while. TIME Magazine has released the list of the “16 Most Influential Fictional Characters” and the star of the meme came in at #15. The horribly-angled photo of Demi spawned Poot’s backstory — that she was a hidden sister, held captive in a basement and finally escaped. Fans of Poot began to create life stories and a social media presence for the character. It even sparked a farcical social media campaign demanding #JusticeForPoot.

Though the world found Poot funny, of course Demi did not. “Cool to see a shitty angle turn into a meme that circulates the internet to people’s amusement ha,” she tweeted.

Maybe Poot’s achievement can help soften the blow from Demi’s lack of Grammy nominations.

Are you happy to see Poot named to the list?

TIME Magazine’s “30 Most Influential Teens Of 2015” Includes Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner And Zendaya

Kylie Jenner Honored By NY TimesTIME Magazine has released the official list of its “30 Most Influential Teens of 2015” which includes Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner and Zendaya among those featured.

Kylie’s rapid domination of the social media world is what landed her a spot on the list. TIME considers her “arguably the most-watched teenager in the world.”

She tells TIME, “I just want to inspire my fans to be whoever they want to be,” she says, “because that’s what I’ve always done.”

Her older sister Kendall Jenner just barely made the cutoff for the list, as she will turn 20 next month.  Kendall has become one of the most sought-after young models and has walked in runway shows for major fashion houses such as Chanel and Balmain Paris. She has also graced the cover of more than a half dozen international magazines, including Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. While she doesn’t appear to have the same passion for social media as her younger sister, she did manage to be the subject of Instagram’s most-liked photo in history, which has earned 3.1 million likes since it was posted this summer.

Former Disney star Zendaya made the list for being a positive role model and voice for girls of this generation. She is a very vocal “champion of body positivity,” recently calling out Modeliste Magazine for touching up pictures of her during their photoshoot. She has even been immortalized by Mattel, who created a Zendaya Barbie doll of her 2014 Oscars look to honor “a moment of confidence that was so positively received.”

Other teens honored on this year’s list were Shawn Mendes, Amandla Stenberg, “Dance Moms” star Maddie Ziegler, Jaden Smith, and Malia Obama.

What do you think of TIME’s list?
