Katy Perry offered up some good news and some bad news on Wednesday via Instagram. The singer took to the platform to share two notes for her fans about “Witness: The Tour,” which was set to kick off in Columbus, Ohio on September 7.
That date has been pushed back to September 19 in Montreal, Canada. Katy explained the delay in her note, writing, “Due to unavoidable production delays, major elements of my tour stage design could not be available for me to rehearse until this week.” All dates have been rescheduled.
The delay for Katy to have proper rehearsals came alongside what the singer called “good news.” Katy announced that Carly Rae Jepsen and EDM act Purity Ring will be joining her as openers during her tour. They’ll take turns after a string of shows featuring Katy’s first opener: Noah Cyrus.
Noah’s career continues to trend upward with the announcement that Miley Cyrus’ BFF Katy added her to her big tour. But is it really “good news” for everyone involved? Noah’s biggest live performance to date at the MTV Movie Awards was universally panned.
