Rihanna And Zendaya Kick Start February With Their Own Black History Month Tributes

Rihanna And Zendaya Celebrate Black History Month featureRihanna and Zendaya commemorated the first day of Black History Month by taking to Instagram to call awareness to the month-long celebration. Both focused on how politics can be personal when you’re a visible black woman in pop culture.

Rihanna shared an image that reminded her followers that Black History Month isn’t the only time of year to focus on black issues. Regardless of whether or not it’s February, Rihanna’s identity isn’t something she can avoid. But she embraces it because, as she wrote, she’s been “#makinghistorysince1988,” the year she was born.

Zendaya echoed Rihanna’s personal focus as she shared a throwback from February 2015. It was expected from a star who’s remained politically active as of late. From the Muslim Ban to the Women’s March, Zendaya has been outspoken about a lot of issues.

Chloë Grace Moretz, Zendaya And More Celebs Speak Out Against President Trump’s #MuslimBan

Chloe Grace Moretz Protests Donald Trump's MuslimBan At LAX FEATUREChloë Grace Moretz’s birthday celebration may have started early, but that doesn’t mean her life is suddenly one big party. The actress spent Saturday night at LAX. Chloë wasn’t headed to an overseas movie shoot, though.

She was among thousands of people at airports across the country protesting the detainment of travelers from the Middle East. Airline passengers were being held under an executive order signed Friday by President Donald Trump. Under the so-called “Muslim Ban,” dozens of people were detained for hours at airports across the country. Chloë was among the protestors at the Los Angeles airport.

Chloe Grace Moretz Protests Donald Trump's MuslimBan At LAX cgm tweetShe wasn’t the only one paying speaking out. Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui, who spends a fair bit of time protesting, was monitoring the situation and letting fans know what she thought via social media. Stars like Zendaya and Halsey did the same, retweeting breaking news stories about the detainments. Others, like Rihanna and Camila Cabello, were more vocal about their feelings on the issue.

While efforts by the ACLU have achieved a temporary block to the travel ban from seven majority-Muslim countries, it looks like this fight isn’t over yet.
