Demi on Cher Lloyd: 'Well first of all, my mom loves Cher Lloyd and my little sister loves Cher Lloyd. And I love her too. She has so much sass and attitude. They were really wanting me to do a duet with her. And so I was thinking who else would be more fun to do a collaboration with than a powerful, sassy attitude-filled girl? And there's just nobody else out there. She fit perfectly on that song.
Well I had been talking to L.A. She's signed to his label. And so the whole time I was like 'I want to work with Cher.' Finally when she came to the set [in November last year], I was like 'I have a song. You have to be on it'. I felt like a rapper like 'Yo man you've got to be on my track.'

Demi Lovato told ABC about Joe Jonas: 'When you go through heartbreaks and things like that, you always have in mind somebody. It's like when you hear a song on the radio that reminds you of somebody, you're going to be reminded. But keeping that in mind... it's a delicate balance.
We were in a relationship and we broke up, and at one point, I was really mad at him. Now, I can, fortunately, say, that him, and his brother Nick, have always been there for me, and are literally family, and like brothers.. we have a great friendship. And we may not be as close as we used to be, but that's OK."

I hold no resentments towards anyone, even towards the people that inspire the really emotional songs. I'm over it and now I just want to share my experience with people.'

'Not only does it draw up different emotions because there are songs about heartbreak and there are songs of just wanting to hook up. And you never want the person you wrote about to hear that song and feel bad. I never want that to happen. But at the same time, it's coming from a personal experience, and if it turns out to be a great song and you're like, 'Well, sorry.'
There are songs that are pretty self-explanatory on this album and when I played those songs in front of other people I almost felt, like, naked," Lovato said. "There were several times I had to leave the room. 'Shouldn't Come Back' was one track she had a particularly hard time laying down the vocals for, as it brought to light so many different emotions. And as it turns out, parts of the song were improv.
I was sobbing because it was built-up emotion that I was finally getting to release in music. And there was a turning point in the song, it was originally about one thing and then ..I just kind of freestyled the lyrics and I just changed the song completely. And my producers were like 'Woah, that just got heavy.' Songwriting is like taking your top off.'
Demi, 'I Didn't Want To Lose On X-Factor'
Demi Lovato on X-Factor return: 'There was some hesitation only because I got so stressed out last year for the live shows because I am such a perfectionist and a control freak. I didn't want to lose because I'm that girl that's so competitive with people,
And I didn't want to lose to Simon especially it being my first year on the X Factor. Of course, I was out right away. I want to see new talent and I want to be a part of that journey again. I went back to TV, and it was worth it..
I also did it because not only was it going to help me get through some mental things and some fears, but it also held me accountable to still be that light in other people's eyes and an inspiration to people.'
