On her album: 'It is kind of a mystery, but I like that. It’s a lot older. It’s a lot more pop, a lot more dance, kind of techno feel to it. The rest of the record kind of speeds up a little bit and this one just had a beautiful feel to it that was elegant and another way for me to step out of what I did before.
It just is a beautiful, confident song and that’s what I wanted the video to be and everything else. There’s a couple of tracks on the record that speak to me about everything that I’ve gone through, just the past year, which are great things and obviously some not great things, but it’s been really fun for me to just experience growing up and doing that through music and sharing it with my fans.
There’s going to be some fun songs on there that describe the fun place I’m in and also certain other subjects.' She wants to be honest with her fans, but maintain a private life as well: 'It kind of gets awkward, but I genuinely love what I do and I know that writing and performing and music is an expression of everything that I’m going through and feeling, so it’s natural for people to be curious and I get that, but I genuinely am just a normal 20-year-old.'

How are you doing? 'I've got nothing to complain about.' No strings attached? 'Nope.' So sometimes you may see a boy walking down the street and he says, 'Let's grab a ice cream,' you're available? 'Yep.' You're completely available in every way? 'Yep! By the way that would be awesome if someone asked if I wanted ice cream because that would be cool.'
Sel revealed to MTV: 'I actually have a boring rider. I'll be honest.. ramen. That's what I have. I'm more about food and apparently incense. I want it [the tour] almost to tell, not necessarily a story, but I want it to feel like a big rave. When I started performing and I was maybe 16 or 17 half the time it was a 'Wizards [of Waverly Place]' fan base so it was a little bit of a younger fan base.
They could not care that I was on that stage they were braiding their hair, but they were dancing and having the best time and honestly that's what I want. 'Whether you go and you don't care what I do on that stage, just have a great time I want it to feel so powerful and everybody just dance and let loose.'

Selena Gomez, 'Skrillex Inspired Me'
Selena Gomez is going to be dancing a lot to her new album! 'To be honest, most of the record speeds up. With this album, I got to record over 24 songs, and it was really fun for me to have more of a creative control and more of a say, and that's what was super important to me with this album.
I want it to be a mixture of everything I'm obsessed with. I love to dance and I love to make people dance. It's the best feeling. Doing 'Spring Breakers' was really fun, because Skrillex and Cliff Martinez did the soundtrack, and [Skrillex] kind of inspired me with a baby dubstep, because I have a few songs that have that.
Britney [Spears] was one of my inspirations. I've watched 'NSYNC, Janet Jackson, they were all about performances. It wasn't necessarily about stage. If you look at any Janet Jackson video, half the time she's in jeans, and I love that. She looks stunning because it's all about performing, so I kinda want to get more into that again.'
