Taylor Swift Perth Now concert reveiw & Billboard interview: 'You never talk to him again and then you write a whole album about him. I can imagine it's hard to make a relationship last. I wouldn't know..' She ushers Stay Stay Stay in by proudly noting 'See, they don't always leave..'
As a writer it's really important I keep my mind in check, that's the only thing that keeps me here, what comes out of my mind. So I spend a lot of time thinking about my perspective, how to look at life, how to stay happy but still feel things. Not protect myself too much but shield myself from unnecessary pain and insecurity.' Taylor tapped her head and joked: 'You don't want to get inside here, it's very complicated'.
'..Break-ups are hard, And you need music to get through them. I am happy to be your go-to break-up musician. People like music when they're in love but they don't need it as much. You need music when you're missing someone or you're pining for someone or you're forgetting someone or you're trying to process what just happened. The heartbroken are a special kind of people. When you're in that spot, when you're going through it, I'll be there to hold your hand.'
On blog: 'I don't read anything. It's dangerous to read the internet about yourself when you're me. Or when you're anyone in the public eye. You can't ever portray who you actually are in the world we live in where there's a headline and an exclamation point behind everything you say. It paints you as a cartoon no matter what.
I'm the kind of person where if I read a detail that's wrong , we didn't go to that restaurant, that person just stopped by to say hi at the table, we weren't on a date, if I read something factually incorrect it bothers me. People don't know the full truth. The only way I can accurately portray my side of my story and not filter it is in my songs. My fans know that. Or I hope they get that.'
An obsessed Taylor Swift fan was arrested near her Rhode Island beach home early this morning after swimming up to her house, reports TMZ. Lucas H. Vorsteveld, 22, of Chicago was taken into custody for trespassing after he admitted to swimming up to the beach in front of Swift's home around 2 AM. Around 2:20 AM, cops spotted the man getting out of the ocean, around 1 mile from Swift's home.
Cops approached the guy and asked him what he was doing in the water and the man allegedly told police he had just completed a swim, in which he intended to meet Taylor. The man told cops he swam all the way to Swift's beach, but saw her security team and decided to swim back to where he came from (roughly 2 miles round trip in cold water). Vorsteveld indicated he was in town from Chicago and did not have a residence in town. He was booked for trespassing.
VIDEO of Taylor on New Girl last night under! + Billboard scans. NOTE: NEW Billboard interview HERE! F'or me, the highlight of this year was that fans went out and bought more than a million copies of "Red" in its first week of release. That was such an unbelievable feeling, knowing that many people wanted to hear about the last two years of my life. When I put out an album, it’s like me releasing my version of events, the way I felt at my highest and lowest points. Sharing that with the world is a vulnerable position to put yourself in, and having it be so celebrated by my fans was almost an indescribable feeling of joy and relief and 'Oh, good, they understand me.'
What was your favorite music-related meme or viral video this year? I like the app where you can make your own memes. I make memes all the time and send them to my friends. I also love basically any cat-related YouTube video. Yes, I’m that girl. And I thought the goat video for 'I Knew You Were Trouble' was brilliant, I showed it to everyone on my tour.

Taylor Swift is set to become the first female act since Madonna to play stadium shows in Australia. The pop superstar will tour stadiums in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth this December, playing to around 180,000 Australian fans in just ten days. It is the biggest Australian tour by a solo female performer since Madonna's 1993 visit.
Swift's meteoric rise in popularity in Australia has seen her accelerate from club shows in 2009 playing to around 1000 people to stadium venues of up to 50,000 fans just four years later. 'It's a sign of the achievements of Taylor Swift and the loyal fanbase she's built up that she will be the first woman to play stadiums nationally here since Madonna,' promoter Michael Gudinski said yesterday.
Taylor: 'That's mindblowing and a real honour. One of my favorite things about the connection between myself and the fans on this tour is that it's a very emotional one. They're there because they've felt the same things I'm singing about at one point in their lives. They're singing all the words. When you look out at a sea of people in a stadium and 60,000 people are singing back to you it's an incredible connection.'
Selena on Come & Get It fashion: 'I worked with my stylist that I've had since I was 15, and when Anthony came on board he was really supportive of wanting me to have a little bit more control with it when it came to the fashion end of it. And that [black] dress was actually a last-minute dress because I was wanting it to be more long-sleeved. But with the field and everything and the setting, [Mandler] wanted it to be a little more sensual. I get it: it's a beautiful dress and I definitely love the pop with my hair.
I'm excited, though I honestly feel like it's the best video that I've done and I got to work with great people on it. It looks beautiful, the wardrobe looks great. It was fun for me to have a little more creative control over it. When I got the concept from Anthony, the director, it was perfect, because he did an earth, fire, wind water feel, and it was very, as he called it, 'earthy,' And I loved that, because I feel that's what the track represents, and I like that we applied it.
In reaction to a lawsuit from Adrenalina Inc, Selena has filed counterclaims alleging $5.2 million in damages. According to her legal papers filed on Wednesday in L.A. Superior Court, Adrenalina promised to pay her a 5 percent royalty with a guaranteed minimum payment of $5.7 million. The counterclaims says that the promises by Adrenalina turned out to prove meaningless:
'As would later be disclosed in public filings, but which was not known to Ms. Gomez or her representatives at the time, Adrenalina was a company with a checkered past and without the wherewithal to fund its financial commitments. The lawsuit was a tactical ploy to escape liability for its own breaches of contract and exposure to millions in damages.
By failing to pay its bills, and by jeopardizing the brand with a public lawsuit, Adrenalina has breached both the express terms of the license and the 'implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing' that enures to every contract. Under these circumstances, Ms. Gomez had no choice but to terminate the license to protect her reputation and brand.'
Ed Sheeran insists Taylor Swift's love life is exaggerated: 'The rumor that she dates a lot of people is a misconception, because in the time that I’ve known her, which has been almost two years now, she has dated two people. Fact. And in her entire life, I think she’s dated around five or six people. I don’t like when people take shots at her because I do know her personally, and I think people get the wrong end of the stick.
She’s so successful, and she’s so nice and sweet to everyone that she meets. There is nothing bad to say [except that] she was being pictured with a lot of dudes. I mean, I have female friends at home, who would not have the same reputation as Taylor in the media, that have been with ten times more people than her.'
Ed on Taylor friendship: 'It started off very strong. We started off instant friends, and it’s been that since then. I think it would be incredibly unprofessional and idiotic for me to [date Taylor]. To go on tour for six months with someone and hook up with them just before you go out on tour, which is what people think we did, that’s just a really silly thing to do, because the tour would be very awkward by now, and it’s not, so that’s that.'
On Taylor: 'She's so great! She sent me a video and she's, like, dancing. She's like the cutest dancer, because she has this little ponytail and her little bangs, and she's like just the cutest thing in the world. She's the best. She's supported me from my first record to this one, and she's heard all of my stuff, so she's really sweet.'
On Demi's music: 'I love it. The one thing I appreciate about Demi is that she has her own individual style, and that's something she's wanted to remain no matter where she is, and I definitely love that and admire that about her.'
Taylor Swift is nominated for two 2013 CMT Music Awards including Video of the Year for 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' and Female Video of the Year for 'Begin Again.' + more pix from MET GALA!
Ed Sheeran on touring with Taylor: 'I'm loving it. I've been very fortunate with the tours that I've been invited on. I went out on tour, hung out with [Snow Patrol] in the day, played the show, duet with them, then hung out with them in the evening, this is the same kind of thing with Taylor.
I go there, hang out with Taylor, I play a show, do my duet with her, then I hang out a bit more and then I go. So, really, it's a nice tour. Six months is a long time to go on tour and leave your family and friends, and if you haven't got a friend on the road it can get quite lonely.'
