Zac Efron will be the next Spider-Man and make £9 million [$15 million] for the role, according to OK! Magazine UK. The sequel is due to start filming later this year and scheduled to be released in cinemas by 2012.
A studio insider revealed: 'After dumping Spidey, Tobey then came to the rescue by recommending that Zac should take over his role.' Producers believe that Zac's a massive teen following will help reboot the franchise.
They have also expressed interest in reuniting Zac with his girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens. She's tipped to replace Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane: 'It would be a great coup to land her as well. The franchise would be revitalised and transformed by two of Hollywood’s most gifted and fast-rising young stars.'

Zac Efron has signed a deal at Universal for Fire, an adaptation of a graphic novel by Brian Michael Bendis & published by Image Comics, reports Deadline Hollywood. Zac will play a college student who is recruited by the CIA, only to find that he has been trained for a program that creates expendable agents.
Zac has made a separate deal at Warner Bros to star in a Back To The Future-like film that joins together two projects. One’s a pitch from writers Tim Calpin and Kevin Jakubowski, and the other is a WB project called Algorithm that the studio was already developing.
Zac and his girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens will be taking part in George Lopez's benefit concert 'Help Haiti.' The show will take place on Feb. 4 at Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE.

Kid Rock talked to People about Taylor: 'She knows how to play guitar and she writes her songs so God bless her. I wish there was more of that out there. Hopefully she gets better and grows and keeps it all going.'
