To come over the tragedy of Galaxy Note 7, Samsung has already planned and confirmed to bring next flagship, Samsung Galaxy S8, early next year. And in order to make difference, surely they are going to make their new flagship really impressive. That is what we are going to see in this article.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is rumored to be the world’s first smartphone to feature Optical Fingerprint Recognition. For those who don’t know, Optical Fingerprint Recognition technology lets embed the fingerprint sensor right inside the Display itself, rather than integrating it with home key or on the back as we usually see now a days in latest smartphones. Matter of fact, Galaxy S8 is also rumored to come without physical Home button.

The rumor is still not confirmed because they are not sure if it will work properly, or could be too slower as well. The fastest fingerprint sensor smartphone we have today is Xiaomi Mi 5s which is powered with Ultrasonic Fingerprint Recognition.

Another important upgrade Samsung has planned for Galaxy S8 is the Full screen OLED display. Again, this is a rumor. not confirmed. However, a principal engineer at Samsung display-making unit, Park Won-sang said at iMiD 2016 display exhibition in Seoul :

Samsung Display would roll out a full-screen display whose display area ratio (a scale that measures space taken up by a display on the front part of a handset) reaches more than 90 percent next year.

Which from another point of view means, compared to last year’s Galaxy S7 and S7 edge which had 72% and 76% screen to body ratio, the next Galaxy S8 will be coming with 20% more screen to body ratio. He also gave example of recently announced ‘Xiaomi Mi MIX’ which comes with amazing 91.3% screen-to-body ratio and ceramic body.

Well, we will find out more later whether these rumors are going to be true to will just remain rumors. As of now, talking about specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is rumored to be powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 or Samsung Exynos 8895 10nm SoCs accompanied by whopping 6GB of RAM. It is said to be featuring a 5.5-inch 4K display with VR compatibility with expanded curved display to the top and bottom edges.
