Cara Delevingne has always been an open book about her sexuality, but in a candid conversation with friend Adwoa Aboah for the latest issue of Glamour, Cara explains that people—mainly her friends—are still very confused.
Opening up about the initial responses to her coming out as sexually fluid, Cara admits that many assumed it meant she was just gay. “Once I spoke about my sexual fluidity, people were like, ‘So you’re gay,'” she says. “And I’m like, ‘No, I’m not gay.'”
Cara, a known member of the Taylor Swift squad, also calls out her straight pals for their annoyingly near-regressive mindset.
“A lot of the friends I have who are straight have such an old way of thinking. It’s, ‘So you’re just gay, right?’ [They] don’t understand it,” she adds. “[If] I’m like, ‘Oh, I really like this guy,’ [they’re like], ‘But you’re gay.’ I’m like, ‘No, you’re so annoying!'”
The confusion where Cara’s sexuality is concerned isn’t the only part of her life she finds annoying. With the release of “Valerian” on the horizon and her work on “Life in a Year,” Cara critiques those who consider her acting to be a career transition.
“I always say, modeling is something I do, whereas acting feels more like what I [am],” she explains.
