Naya Rivera and Ryan Dorsey are done trying to make it work. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Naya has re-filed for a divorce she initiated in November of 2016 before backing out of it this October. In the new documents, Naya reportedly cites “irreconcilable differences” between the couple. The news comes after Naya was arrested for domestic battery in an incident with Ryan in West Virginia.
Naya’s arrest came after police were called on the couple the weekend after Thanksgiving. The couple was reportedly out on a walk with their two-year-old child when Naya struck Ryan in the head and lower lip. Days later, Ryan took to Twitter to say, “This is a difficult time for everyone in the family especially for Naya and I.”
Sounds like the hard times are coming to an end for the couple–or maybe they’re just getting started. In her court documents, Naya listed the couple’s separation on the day before her arrest. She is pressing for joint legal and physical custody of their two-year-old, Josey Hollis Dorsey, and trying to make sure that neither side ends up with spousal support.
Naya’s history of messy public drama got her ex-communicated from “Glee” cast reunions, so it’s hard to say what she might pull in her bid to break it off with Ryan. The TV star couple might want to avoid avoid the kind of drama that’s right at home on television, but it remains to be seen if they’re capable of that.
