These were the ones that are already launched and will be available shortly this year. But there are others which are in the making and which will add to the ongoing race.

1. Huawei P30 or Mate 30:

Huawei 5G Phone

Apart from the already discussed Mate X, there are other Huawei flagships that are underway namely, P30 and Mate. It’s not sure which one of these two will be offering 5G because the 5G chipsets require high power consumption. But according to a senior executive, one is sure to have 5G feature. The company needs to work on the battery usage though, as most of their devices do not offer more than a day and a half of battery life.

2. OnePlus 7 or OnePlus 7T:

OnePlus has confirmed that they are working with the US carriers to launch their 5G phone next year which means it could be either of the two handsets. This statement is reaffirmed by the comments coming in from the executive team of the company. Typically, OnePlus releases its devices in May or July, so it can be expected from the company to bring in their 5G devices.

3. Oppo 5G Flagship:

The company has already made a connection between an Oppo R15 smartphone and a 5G network. This is a good sign as it shows that the company is ready for taking up the new technology and incorporating it with their own technology. With all the news coming in, it is expected to release in March or April.

4. Honor 5G Phone:

The president of the company, George Zhao has himself confirmed that Honor is all set to release its 5G phone and that it would be the first to reach the market. However, no details have yet being revealed.

5. Sony Xperia 2:

The Xperia handset showcased at MWC 2019 did not feature 5G but it’s certain that the one which would be launched later this year will have it. There are rumors going around about the handset, but nothing is specific about it yet. Some of the features that are being talked about are, wireless charging, waterproofing and Android Pie with a longer battery life.

6. iPhone:

Due to the on-going controversy with Qualcomm, the 2019 models of iPhone might not feature 5G. But according to the trends, Apple is never the one to get into the race of releasing new technology in line with others. Therefore, it might come out a year later but with the problems with latest XS and XS Max, nothing can be said for sure if the tech-giant will release its 5G handsets or not!

So now, watch out for the race of markets being flooded with the new technology and with the competition, it is difficult to say which one emerges as a success!
