Set Google Search as Default in Microsoft Chromium Edge:

After installing this all new Microsoft Chromium Edge browser on your computer, follow the procedure mentioned below.

  • Open Chromium Edge and type ‘Google.com’ in the address bar. When you visit a webpage that uses “OpenSearch” to show its Search engine information, Microsoft Edge will record this Search Engine information which you will use in next step towards setting your default search engine.
  • After that, browse anything in the search bar and then go to Menu> Settings > Privacy and Services.
  • Now, click on Address bar > Manage Search Engines.

  • You will see the list of other search engines recorded by Microsoft Edge browser, click on the option of your choice and Make Default. The list will contain the search engine you have visited in the second step i.e. Google. You can add any other search engine similarly.

And there you go!!  You have successfully changed the settings to make Google as your default Search.  You will be able to find Google in the browser’s drop down menu after adjusting the Google Search Engine Option in your Microsoft Edge browser.

You can add more search engines of your choice by following the same procedure. You can do that in the second step, for getting the search engine recorded in your browser. Visit any webpage that uses OpenSearch for showcasing its search engine information. For example, you can search for DuckDuckGo in the place of Google.
