This guide will describe the troubleshooting steps for issues that you might encounter during your gaming session of Rage 2.

Rage 2 is basically the first-person shooting video game which is launched by Avalanche studios and Id Software. In this game, player plays the game on behalf of Walker. Gamers can choose various things such as weapons; clothes etc. for walker and have to fight. They can even acquire powers for walker. This is the basic idea of the theme of Rage 2. Makers of Rage 2 has released a patch, which I guess you guys need to look prior to following the steps stated in the guide. Maybe the patch will help you fix all your problems. Its DAY-ONE Update Patch, which is 14 GB patch. It will resolve your most of the issue which compromises of loading and installing the game. Try downloading the patch and hopefully you will get all your solutions then and there.

Moving further, we are going to check first the minimum and recommended requirements. Usually people ignore these requirements and then later one face various issues related to the graphics, game lagging, crash of game etc. So, to avoid any such problems make sure you are fulfilling the recommended and minimum requirements.

So before playing the game, make sure that your system meets the system requirements. And if you have high end PC then you will never encounter such problems. Then you do not have to worry.

Unable to Install Rage 2

I am lucky that I have not encountered this issue, but a lot of people are having hard time with this one. And if you are among them, then you need to move further.

If you are unable to install the game, then make sure you do not have your anti-virus software turn off because generally what happens is that your antivirus software hampers the installation of new gaming software. If you want to turn it off, then go to settings and search for anti-virus software, there you will find the toggle button to turn it off. After turning off the anti-virus try installing the game again. Once you have installed your game successfully you can turn on your antivirus software.

Secondly, if this step is not applicable for you then check whether the CD drive through which you are installing your game is having issue. Sometimes the marks/ scratches on the DVD will cause the error in installation. So, check the DVD. It should not be corrupted. If it is, then get new DVD and reinstall the game.

And if you are downloading the file using iso image and then you must check your iso image. Corrupted iso image also create issues. You can download new one from the official website. Wipe off the corrupted data and then install the new game.

Lastly, you can try rebooting your PC. Most of the windows errors are fixed just by rebooting the system.

Rage 2 Crashes on Launch

All the issues related to crashes are mostly because of the outdated drivers. Check whether your media drivers are updated. If they are not, then download the updated drivers from the official website of the game and install it. And then test again. You can download the updated drivers from the belowofficial sites –

If the game is still failing, then you have to update the DirectX and then restart the game. Surely these steps will fix the issue.

Turning off the UAC

Sometimes the game is unable to install due to the fact that UAC is on. UAC is called User Access Control and hamper the installation of software from unknown sources. Turing off UAC will work here.

Rage 2 is Lagging or Freezing

Lagging is the issue where your screen freezes during playing the game. To avoid this situation, you can install Razor game booster which help you decrease the freezing issue. You can also change and lower the performance setting from the settings which will be another alternative to this problem.

Rage 2 Resolution issue

At times, its been seen that the resolution of the game is very poor. The troubleshoot the poor quality of resolution, you have to perform the steps stated below-

  • If the resolution of the game is very high, then there are chances of resolution issue. Make sure you fulfill the minimum requirements to play the game.
  • Kill the process which are not required during the gaming session. This will free the maximum resources and hence help from completely get rid of this problem.
  • Turn off the VSYNC, Anti-Aliasing and Filtering. Then open game setting to turn them off.

Rage 2 No Audio or Audio Issues

This issue is directly related to DXDiag. Type DXDiag in the search box and then search for DirectX. Look for sound option there and lower the acceleration of the sound button.

Alternately, you can update your audio drivers. You can do that by downloading the updated ones from the official website.
