Xolo Q1200 Review

Being a big size screen you might be worried about the backlight thing. But Xolo Q1200 has a good screen quality. It has a 5-inch HD IPS display where you are getting the maximum resolution (720x1280p at 294PPI. The screen is amazing and you can get great multimedia quality on the same. Above that to protect the screen from damage you get Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. So you have to less worry about screen You can use different gestures on the screen to use the phone. Like you can use double tap-to-unlock. You don’t have to swipe for the same. There are many similar features like this. The phone has a viewing angle and sunlight readability is also great.

Operating System and UI:

Xolo Q1200 comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. But Xolo has that this device is also going to give Android 4.4 KitKat OTA update on the same. Most probably you have to download the ROM from the official site and flash it. Xolo Q1200 has a different UI. This can be the proprietary UI of Xolo that makes your work a lot easier. IT is good to have a different UI instead of stock Android rom that makes things look a lot lazier.

Xolo Q1200 uses Kobee launcher. You can make changes and customize the same as per your need. It is easy to use. The settings are accessible from the notifications panel. You can adjust your screen brightness and disable different connectivity options through that. The best part here is that the device comes loaded with gestures support where many budget android phone falls to give you this.

I had mentioned above that you can just double tap-to-unlock to unlock the screen. To keep the phone on silent you have to flip it. You have to go in the settings to turn on the feature. They are not enabled by default. You can use alphabet to access applike you can set F to start facebook. The gesture feature on Xolo Q1200 works nicely. You will not face any problem with that. There are many pre-installed apps in the phone that can be helpful.

Camera Quality:

Xolo Q1200 offers you dual camera support. Where an 8MP is placed on the backside and this camera features Sony Exmor R sensor. This means you can have some really great photos. Above that if you are taking photos in the dark then you can use dual LED flash on the same.

The photos quality is nice and the stock camera app is decent. At the front side it offers you a 2MP which is good for video chatting. But take dark photos in low light. The color reproduction if back camera is quiet nice. You get bright images with clear and crisp quality. You can also capture full-HD videos through the same. The front camera of Xolo Q1200 is not impressive but you can take a lot of advantage from the back one.

Hardware and Performance:

Xolo Q1200  has a good hardware. It gives you a new chipset that is needed today to run all type of games and apps. It has a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor which can handle multi tasking well. The 1GB RAM supports a lot. But still when it comes to HD gaming Xolo Q1200 cannot help you much. Being a mid range phone you have to sacrifice that. You must not expect much about gaming.

While other things work really nice. You can instantly switching between apps and it does not lag or freeze. Through custom app launcher app accessibility is really fast. It works very well with all casual games. And for hd there are some issue. Xolo Q1200 is a good phone in terms of performance compare to Moto G which falls in the similar price range. For storage you have 8GB in built and only 5GB is free. But you can use a SD Card on the same and get around 32GB of more space. Being a mid range phone Xolo Q1200 still holds good output.
