Motorola Moto X (2014) review

Motorola Moto X 2014 Review

Camera Quality:

This section of new Moto X is improved drastically in comparison of megapixels. New Moto X is given out with 13MP camera shooter along with dual LED flash which is capable of shooting marvelous images. Ring flash architecture is used for Moto X around camera unit and same is used by professional photographers. Moto X is given with fast autofocus features but images are still grainy and blurry with respect to the light conditions.

Outdoor shooting is just amazing with good colors but dim light or dark light produces grainy images. Moto X is capable of shooting video at 4K resolution and is good improvement against its predecessor. You can also record Slow- motion video but works as limited use feature. Camera also provides you with settings like sharpness, eyes blinking, smiles, and other factors. Front facing camera is featured with 2MP camera to capture good selfie and also helps in video chat. Compare to camera unit of Samsung, HTC and Apple new flagship of Motorola is not so impressive.

Hardware and Performance:

New Motorola is running on Snapdragon 801 chipset and this is major improvement over its predecessor as last Moto X was powered with Dual-core engine. Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset has arrangement of Quad-core 2.5GHz Krait 400, 2GB RAM and Adreno 330 GPU to handle all the instructions fired by user. Snapdragon 801 chipset architecture are best for gaming and computing, if you are more in to preparing presentations and other documents then you are allowed to work on various tasks easily and if you are gamer then this architecture is best for gaming and entertainment. Performance of the phone is cleverly managed by Motorola and will be admired by the users.

Internal storage of the phone is given with 16 and 32GB variant and further it cannot be expanded as there is no expansion slot present in the phone, this can prove to be the drawback of this phone. Motorola has also worked to enhance the connectivity options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Battery Backup:

Battery section is also improved compare to its predecessor but improvement does not work against competitors. New Moto X is been enriched with 2,300mAh battery strength which is advanced over predecessor but falls behind in race against other devices in market. The Moto X lasted 8 hours and 44 minutes in our battery rundown test which is good for optimum phone users. We were expecting Moto X with more powerful battery rather than 2,300mAh battery of Moto X.

Conclusion:

Best smartphone by Motorola with packed features along with good price. There are lots of good features to count like premium and aesthetic design of phone, clear and full HD resolution display, Snapdragon 801 chipset and 13MP camera unit is enough to describe for any smartphone. New Moto X is good to handle and funky in looks with powerful core but only lacks with better camera clarity and battery backup. Compare to Samsung S5, HTC M8 and Sony Z2 new flagship of Motorola is not competitive.
