Motorola DROID Turbo Review

Motorola DROID Turbo is the latest and pretty high end smartphone from the manufacturer that promises great features and design. It appears like after Google took Motorola, they had modified the entire phone quality to something very special. And the challenge here brings devices like Moto 360 Smartwatch . This one is latest and a successful model in the market.

Today we will be checking out the amazing Motorola DROID Turbo. This phone is not yet available around the globe, it is right now restricted to US and sold by its popular telecom provider. But in future we are expecting in all countries. Motorola DROID is the latest one in Droid family which is powered by 2.7 GHz of cpu and 3GB RAM. High hardware makes it an amazing phablet for daily usage.

The screen size is around 5.1inch with support smooth touch support and it works on the latest Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS. All tanks to qHD Amoled screen. It is also an ideal photography phone. The camera is pushed to 20MP where you can get treat photos. And having all this feature pack together in one phone does not mean you will have a very poor battery life. The device also comes powered with a big size battery. You can get solid performance from the same. I am also happy with the look of this phone. So let’s have a detailed look on Motorola DROID Turbo but before that let’s have a quick look at its highlights:

Design & Packaging:

Motorola DROID Turbo comes in a new kind of fiber material packaging. It is a metal glass fiber that makes it bit strong and it is also supported by nylon fiber that adds more to the body element. When you hold the phone you will feel that you are holding a very durable device. And to some extent the body element make this phone a shock proof model.

This device looks a clear competitor to iPhone 6 series. Motorola does not prefer to make their phone much flashy, but a generic look. If you want to show off then you can buy one that has different color back cover. Droid Turbo is is molded with nice finishing that makes it a value for money product. Instead of using metal or plastic enclosure, Motorola used this new kind of MGF material to make it look amazing. You might feel like a rubber finish on the same, but it is the metalized glass fiber. It does not shine but it makes the phone look quiet rich.

You also get an option to choose the kind of body elements you want. Motorola has 3 choices for the same. You can also go with nylon model that is lighter or you can get with the premium edition. Having a great body element does not means that this phone is waterproof. But it will try to keep your phone always new. The overall construction is amazing here.

Droid Turbo has a power button on the side with volume key and regular ports like 3.5m audio jack and a microusb port. Both are placed well on the top side. There is nothing unique here. Most of the android phones follow the same kind of design pattern. It is a dual sim phone that comes with 4G LTE Support.

Display / Screen:

For any high end phone the screen quality matters a lot. Without proper display you won’t be happy with your phone. This phone has as 5.2 inch screen size. It is a QuadHD Amoled Display that works really fine and gives you a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440. A quiet high end one. The max pixel density you will get is around 565ppi. The touch is amazing here and the screen output is always great. The resolution is bit pushed to higher so that you can enjoy movies and games on it. It does not cause any issue with the eye.

Motorola DROID Turbo Display

Checking out photos is also detailed and clear. You get one of the best screens in the market with Droid Turbo. You might have seen other phones also that come loaded with qHD display but the resolution remains limited. Higher resolution means more detailed pictures and easy usage. Another important thing I want to high light about Motorola DROID Turbo is its color reproduction. Which is quiet delayed and eye catching. Nothing is blurry on this phone. From all angles you get the same type of output. As far as my expertise is with the screen I am quite happy with it.

Software & UI:

Compared to other high end phones which come loaded with Heavy UI, Motorola DROID Turbo works on stock rom. You can enjoy an experience of a light weight features and if you want you can use third party apps to boost the same. Still on the stock ROM, this phone is able to give you great features. I am quite fond of stock rom. Because in customized UI you don’t have any option to disable those things that are not needed. And this also affects the battery life.

The good part here is that Motorola DROID Turbo will also get the Android 5.0 update soon. And this will be very quick. So you are having a latest one that is not only loaded with good hardware but will also get required updates easily. Most of the things are based on the stock rom. That means the apps, the customization, etc. And Motorola also load Motorola Apps packages in it such as Moto Voice, Moto Display, Moto Assist and Moto actions.

These apps will be helpful for you to use the phone more effectively. Like the Moto Voice through which you can control your phone through audio. The Messaging apps will be based on the stock OS which is optimized to give you instant productivity output. If you had not yet used the new messaging app then you can still test it. It will be a good experience for you to use the app and enjoy smooth chat. Almost all things are handled by the stock apps.
