Design and Packaging:

Huawei Honor X1 is a 7inch tablet that comes loaded with a Full HD screen on the front side. This screen provides you a max resolution of 1920 x 1200 @ 323ppi. It is not bad at all. At first I was thinking the PPI thing was less compared to few budget tablets in the market. But after using the same I found that Huawei Honor X1 is having amazing display and the screen quality is also great.

Honor X1 runs on a new type of color technology called as LTPS. This stands for Low temperature polysilicon. It is a unique screen which adds more to the view angle. You can tilt your table to 178degree and still you will be able to get a clear view from all corners. It is a 10inch multi-touch display which support various touch commands. The screen also responds well if you are wearing gloves. Due to high pixel density you get a very sharp and clean screen quality. But under light it becomes more glossy.

The glass on the top catches fingerprints very soon. It is good to use some kind of screen guard for more clear view. The entire design is very sleek. It is not a very thick tablet. 7inch size also makes the tablet very comfortable to handle.

At the top side lies a 3.5mm audio jack. A 5mp camera is placed on the front side that helps you to get HD video recording at 720p. The video and picture quality of front camera is great. There is a led notification light and sensors which cover the front top part. There are three capacity buttons at the bottom which is regular in many android devices.

The entire thickness of this tablet lies limited to 7.18 mm, which is quiet sleek and easy to hold. Power and volume rocker is on the right side. A micro SIM and MicroSD card slot is placed on the same side. These are trays based slot. You get an ejector tool in the package that you can use to pull the tray out. USB is at the bottom.

The body of Huawei Honor X1 is made from aluminum and has a brush finished. Most of the body is made of plastic and has a nice build quality. The aluminum back is not very tough. The surface is glossy and gives a very rich look to the tablet. At the backside there is a 13MP camera with led flash. In terms of 7inch tablet this one is a good looking model.

Software & UI:

Huawei Honor X1 comes preloaded with Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. And with that Huawei also offers its own UI which is called as Emotions UI 2.0. This one is an optimized version of Android UI that brings more benefits and smart features on your fingertips. Huawei has already promised that Honor X1 is going to get Android 4.4.4 Kitkat update soon. So there is nothing to worry much about the OS update. But the date is not finalized when it is going to be rolled output.

I hope this must be done soon so that before Android 5.0 people can enjoy the 4.4.4 update on Honor X1. Emotions UI is simple and impressive. You get all the details and settings on the screen directly. It also gives you a multi-tasking button from where you can find out all the apps that are active in the background.

Icons are easy to arrange and you can also adjust the screen wallpaper. This UI also supports different sensor that add more to the gesture command. Like you can simply flip the phone to mute, you can set auto ring volume reduce when you answer the call, etc. Few of these features are very helpful.
