YotaPhone 2 Dual Screen Smartphone Review

Software and UI:

YotaPhone 2 comes packed with Android 4.4.3 KitKat. And I do not really think that in future this phone will get any Android Lollipop update. Because as the OS runs only on 64bit architecture, the phone is not yet on that hardware. The default one does not allow it to upgrade to Android Lollipop. Even if that is possible then there are lots of improvements still needed on the back screen. The UI is based on the custom theme installed by YotaPhone. This is very helpful. The good part here is that the phone does not comes with a stock OS. Because that can affect the value to an extent. The phone looks great in usage. It has a smart ui that let you to navigate properly and also check notification.

YotaPhone 2 Features

Hardware & Performance:

YotaPhone 2 is not bringing a high end change compare to the old version. There are minor things which are modified and most of the features are taken from the old version. Here you can say that YotaPhone 2 is more stable device. Being a costly phone, it is more improved in terms of designed and performance. It runs on a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 quad core processor and has 2GB ram. I am quite sure that this much amount of hardware is more than enough for your day to day app usage. And also a bit for gaming.

Somehow I was thinking that if the phone can be a durable model then it would be worth to buy. It is not a waterproof model. There are some phones which come cheaper by Samsung and are durable. That means they can resist dust and water and gives you more peace of mind while usage. The screen glass is further projected by Gorilla Glass from both the sides. This is also a bit low point. But the build quality is not bad at all. If you use it properly then it is a exclusive model. The phone size is portable. That means you can keep that easily in your pocket. And you can instantly turn the phone to switch screen if you want.

Applications:

With custom UI YotaPhone 2, also comes with some pre-installed apps that are specially designed for this model. Like the first one is Yota Mirror. This app gives you a very nice quality output on the screen. And without this it was not posse to have such a vibrant display. The screen glass on the top holds a thin element that is less shiny and product nice display quality. When you have a display on two sides then it mean a bit of trouble to usage if both the display get activated at the same time.

So here Yota Mirror can help you to use the phone more comfortably. This is also the most powerful feature of this device. This is like pushing your apps and notification to the next screen. If you want to see something on the color screen then you have to hold the home button and drag the app or text to the left side. The phone will ask you to flip the screen and that app or text will be visible. So this one is really needed here. Because sometime some text might have pictures which s not visible in the gray area. And you can instantly push that to the Amoled display.

Yota Hub

The apps also include two more things which make the usage more better. The YotaCover and YotaPanels. These two things are nothing but a collection of utilities. This comes in the UI. You can simply use this to do a lot of work. Like if you want to change the image of the screen then you can use YotaCover.

You can schedule an image auto-change through that. It also pulls images from Facebook. In the same way comes YotaPanels.  It also works very well and gives you a huge amount of layouts to try. There is another app called as YotaSnap. This one is used before also. This app let you to start Yota Mirror instantly. The device also comes with powerful energy saving feature which matters the most.
