LG G3 Beat Review – The Best Average Smartphone

LG G3 Beat is a pioneer in consumer electronics and now it is considered as one of the best android Smartphones in the market. This is a good phone that brings you a new level of features and amazing output. For those who are planning to buy LG phones will surely find many great things in LG G3 Beat at affordable price range.  I will not say it is the best one, but it is better than many others. You get a good hardware which can let you use any app with ease. But to some extent the device has a problem with playing HD game that can clutter the RAM and cause lagging issue. That is acceptable because you cannot just push a Smartphone to a PC level.

LG G3 Beat is loaded with beautiful design and comes with LG custom UI. That improves productivity. At first look it might not be a very flashy model. The actual cost of this model lies around Rs.16,500. But if you go on web and find the models on different ecommerce site you will notice a huge difference. The price is now around Rs.16000 approx on eBay or max you can grab it for Rs.17000 on other sites. Here price is a major factor. So do check different sellers before buying.

LG G3 Beat Review

The thing that I appreciate most on this model is its look. It is not having just regular plastic elements that make the phone a low end in terms of look and design. LG is able to maintain the quality by providing a metal chassis. But the back cover is made of plastic. Overall LG G3 Beat is a good phone. Lets checkout it out in more details but before that, have a quick look at its highlights:

Design:

LG G3 Beat is a compact edition of Flagship LG G3 that was released recently under high end segment. It appears like LG tried to target the price conscious market by giving a compact edition of G3 with very much similar features at low price. The phone has great looks and a smart design which you usually want to see in a Smartphone. A lot of things are taken from LG G3 such as rounded corners and body has a aluminum brush finish on the same. It feels really good to hold this Smartphone.

There is a power and volume button on the right where you can simply adjust the sound and unlock the device. They are easily accessible. Buttons are felt well on fingers. The thickness of LG G3 Beat lies around 1.4mm and the entire weight is around 134g. G3 Beat does not come with durable packaging. It is not waterproof. So you have to take care while using the same. The front side holds HD display with all sensors and camera. While the connectivity ports like usb and audio jack are placed on the bottom side.

There is a nice 5 inch IPS HD display on the front with ultra smooth touch quality. And a 1.3 MP camera on the front. An 8 Megapixel camera is on the backside with LED flash. This camera comes with auto focus camera sensor that adjusts your image quality very well. Micro SD card and Sim lot is placed in back which is visible by removing the back cover. It runs on 2540mAH batter. This is also removable.

Display:

LG G3 Beat comes loaded with a Tru-HD-IPS screen. This is a 5 inch screen where you get a maximum resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. And the pixel density is around 294ppi. When we compare this phone with LG G3 then it has a Quad HD display on that where you get sharper screen quality and level of standard is very high. G3 Beat is having a low end screen, but enough good to give you nice image and video quality. Its screen produces good colors and saturation where everything is nicely visible. This also affects the viewing angle. Compare to other high end phones in the market this is a decent one where the contrast ratio is very good. Your screen is brighter and also offers you legit output. Sun light readability is also not bad and the touch quality is amazing here.

Software and UI:

LG G3 Beat comes with Android 4.4.2 Kitkat operating system with LG’s own Optimum UI. This is a great UI where you will get a lot of options and ample of great features. It is stylish and very light also. Customization is not tough on the same. The UI gives you various options to choose from different transition and animation and I am sure you no longer need any third party launcher for the same. There are many things under display which you can checkout. I am quite happy in using the Optimum UI which is very simple to use. It won’t cause any major issue with anyone. It is easy to recognize where all your apps are. The device also comes with IR Blaster app. That means now you can control your TV and DVD player with that. You can just have a convenience of controlling various media players with it. There is one more app called LG Smart World. This will give you suggested applications for the device. This includes a mixture of paid and free applications.

Camera Quality:

LG G3 Beat comes with dual camera where a 1.3MP is placed on the front and a 8MP is placed on the backside. Overall camera quality is mid range. The back camera is supported by LED flash and auto-focus and it is capable of giving you a image of max 3264×2448 pixels. Optimus UI also make changes in the camera app settings giving you lot more new things. The camera pp settings allow you to have a simple control on the entire camera use. There are nice set of shooting modes which you can choose and take pictures. You can also add different elements in the camera making the image look lot more better. And auto focus sensor is quiet smart. If there is enough light it will take photos very easily. Here 8MP is not a very great camera but quiet enough to take some decent photos. It is not fair to expect much here.

Performance:

LG G3 Beat is powered with the latest QUALCOMM Snapdragon 400 chipset. This gives you a quad core 1.2 Ghz processor on the device with 1GB RAM. All other graphical work is handled by Adreno 305 graphic card. I will not say that here 1GB is enough because when it comes to a high end android Smartphone then the need of RAM is increased. If this have been pushed to 2GB then we would be getting a lot more benefits from different apps and games. The UI has a great benefit from such hardware. And the benchmark test also proves that the phone is not bad at all. Multi-tasking works very well on the phone. There is no lagging or freezing issue at all.

Battery Performance:

The battery of G3 Beat is around 2540mAH. If you optimize your phone for longer usage like using the internet only when needed and not playing much games then you will really enjoy the battery life. After a full charge it is capable of giving you entire day usage. On max usage such as keeping your GPS and 3G on, and you are playing a few videos with that then you can expect the battery life about upto 6 hours.

Conclusion:

LG G3 Beat costs around Rs. 17000 max. It was launched for Rs.25 000 which I think was bit costly for this phone. It is very important that you try to find out the cost on different sites so that you get the least one. LG G3 Beat gives you a good build quality and good performance. This kind of mobile models are ideal when it comes to a mid range device. It is also nice in terms of look. It does not look cheap from any angle. Somehow I am not happy with the Snapdragon 400 chipset. It looks 1GB RAM is restricting the phone to work on maximum power. This happens when you play games and does some other work on the phone at the same time. But in terms of Camera and Build Quality, G3 Beat could be the best deal at the price of Rs. 17,000/-
