Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference 2015 has come up with a number of interesting software announcements. As expected it was an unspectacular consumer dedicated conference. However new softwares and updates have been revealed. Let’s have a look at complete coverage of Apple WWDC 2015.

iOS 9:

Apple has finally revealed iOS 9 yesterday. The most notable feature of this upcoming iOS 9 is “Proactive Assistant”, potent successor of the virtual assistant Siri which got its major upgrade in the name of Proactive Assistant. It is now capable to provide relative information for whatever you search. Information it provides will be based on your location, search history and time. The Proactive Assistant will now be par and compete with Google Now. iPad users will finally receive much awaited features like cut, copy, and paste function along with a new mode that transforms the keyboard into a trackpad. iOS 9 will come with a multitasking mode for iPads which is similar to the OS X multitasking mode.

Also the iOS 9 comes with 1.8GB installation size which is pretty less as compared to size of previous OS released by Apple. Also the new OS will come with a power mode which will save 3 hours battery.

As we earlier informed you on which device will be compatible with iOS 9, Apple officially confirmed the device including iPhone 4S to iPhone 6 Plus, and also on tablets such as iPad 2, iPad 3rd gen, iPad 4th gen, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 2, 3 and 4 and also on Apple’s 5th gen iPod Touch.

OS X El Capitan:

Apple also revealed a new edition of OS X, named OS X El Capitan. This new OS hasn’t come with many notable new features, rather it is an enhancement of Yosemite. Apple states that the El Capitan will provide a 1.4 times faster app launch time and 2 times faster app switching speeds and 4 times better PDF opening and many more. Apple has also come up with its own Metal API for MAC OS which will provide direct access of games and apps to the GPU, this will surely excite gaming lovers. Also MAC OS X has received the awaiting split view feature for better multitasking.

Watch OS 2.0:

Quite astonishingly, Apple has also launched watchOS2, an OS update for the Apple Watch in quick time. The new OS comes with many new choices for watch faces and the OS also brings support for the Homekit as well as the HealthKit in the Apple watch. Users will now also be able to reply to emails with the Apple Watch. Also enhancements in iOS 9 will be accessible through Apple Watch as well.

News app:

Apple also revealed a new News app in iOS 9 which will provide distinguished new as per user’s interests in a vibrant interactive media layout. Apple has made a tie up with New York Times for the News app and they will provide up to 33 articles a day. Nothing has been revealed about whether this service will be provided for free or at a price.

Apple Watch OS 2.0

The News app will be customized for iPhone as well as iPads and will come with same font size as the original site for a better user experience and an impressive layout, users can embed pictures in gallery as well as videos in the News app.  This app will be released for US, UK and Australia first.

Along with iOS 9, new OS X, News app Apple also unveiled its new music streaming service venture, Apple Music Apple Music will be available to users at a price of $9.99 (approx. INR 640) per month. Apple Music is priced at $14.9999 (approx. INR 960) for a family plan which will allow 6 accounts to use this service.  Also to get users addicted to Apple Music, it will be free of cost for first three months.

By 30th of June, the streaming service will be released in more than 100 countries. Apple Music will come with Siri support and you can speak instructions as to which song you want to play and Apple Music will do the job for you. Apple Music has partnered with Beats 1 for its radio service and will start with 3 radio stations which will work from New York, London and LA all the time and these channels will be broadcasted globally.

Apple Pay:

Good news for Apple users who were awaiting the Apple Pay in UK, so that users can make payments online with ease by just sitting at home or also at retail stores. Apple Pay will now be released for UK and many other countries in coming times. However, there was no mention about its release in India. Now Loyalty cards, specific store credit cards and reward packages from retail stores will be supported in Apple Pay.

Apple renamed the Apple Passbook to Apple Wallet which will put together your credit card, debit card, loyalty cards, etc. all at one place.

Homekit and Car Apps:

HomeKit, Apple’s smart home service has come with a number of updates. The upgrades will now allow to adjust window shades, security systems and motion sensors as well. Also Apple car automation CarPlay OS has come with important and notable features.

CarPlay will now permit automobile manufacturers to develop apps that will handle the car’s functionality. High-DPI screens with multiple screen sizes will also be supported by CarPlay.
