Coming to the phone’s name, it is a bit confusing when we see Xperia Z4 (Z3+). If you check out the old series then Sony has gone with Z1, Z2 and then Z3. So most probably you will try to find what Z4 is? But here Sony just halted and came up with Z3+. Well this is because, Sony did launched Xperia Z4, as it should be, but only in China. However, Xperia Z3+ is exactly the same device for Global market, but with different name.

The cost of this phone is around Rs.52,000/-. No doubt that all Z series when launched were very costly, but with the time and with introduction of new models, the price fell at least 50% than the released price.

We had seen each time when Sony reveals a new version it is slimmer and lighter. But with this, heating issues with the model remains intact. The device comes in a unibody design that battery is locked inside. It comes in around 4 different colors. They are white, black, green and copper.

Xony Xperia Z4 Design

Compare to the old version this is not very thin, but enough to give you a good grip. Due to thinness the device also gets lighter. There is a protective glass coating on both the sides. Following the design pattern, it has power, volume and camera key on the right side. Micro usb port is at the bottom and audio is on the top. The device has a single sim slot. It is on the left with microsd card slot covered with a flap. 20.7mp camera is on the backside with 5.1MP on the front. It has a 5.2inch smooth touch screen quality. Sony Xperia Z4 (Z3+) is still very impressive in design. The device has a unibody with IP68 certification.

Display:

Sony always rocks when it comes to screen quality. Sony Xperia Z4 (Z3+) has a 5.2 inches screen. It is an IPS LCD capacitive Touchscreen that offers you up to 16M colors output. The screen also offers you a max resolution of 1920×1080 at a pixel density of 424. The screen is covered with Scratch-resistant glass. Sony has its proprietary screen that is powered by X-Reality Engine. This enhances the screen output more and gives you a smooth touch quality.

The device is having a quiet high hardware with dual quad core processor. So working on this phone is very simple. There is no lagging issue on the same. Extra projection on the screen also helps you to use it roughly. While other high-end Smartphone’s does not really have this kind of protective cover. Sony users its own Custom UI that is loaded with too many bloatware. If there is a way to remove this then the phone can work faster.

Camera Quality:

There is no doubt in Sony’s camera quality. In Xperia series almost all devices are having a very high end camera. And this offers you 20.7 MP outputs. The camera is capable of offering you around 5248 x 3936 pixel resolution with amazing picture and video quality. The camera also works really well in dark due to led flash. It has an impressive autofocus that maintain the image balance very well on different filters. With that the camera also brings touch focus, hdr, panorama and face detection type of features.

Sony Xperia Z4 Camera

The front camera of the device is around 5.1MP that can help you to take effective and clear selfies. There no doubt on the camera quality of Sony Xperia Z4 (Z3+).

Performance:

Sony Xperia Z4 (Z3+) has a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset. This chipset allow the device to have quad core processor with amazing performance. Sony Xperia Z4 (Z3+) has dual quad core CPU on the main board. That is Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and another Quad-core 2 GHz Cortex-A57. These two processor can handle all tasks very well without causing any kind of freezing or lagging issue.

With that when it comes to graphic processing the device also has a Adreno 430 gpu. For storage Sony Xperia Z4 (Z3+) brings 32GB internal and with that it also has a 12GB microSD card support. The device has a 3GB RAM and performs really well with all type of games, applications and other stuff. You can easily switch between one applications to another with ease.

Battery Life:

For any high end phone battery life matters the most. Sony Xperia Z4 (Z3+) runs on 2930mAH battery. Due to a bit changes in the size the battery is also compressed a bit. There is around 5 to 10% reduction in the battery. But still the phone can work very well if you use the Stamina Mode in it.

But if you are using the mobile device for video editing, for gaming and many other task the phone might keep on asking to charge. It is always good to keep a power bank with you. Major amount of battery is consumed in video recording, in using flash and in playing games. Otherwise a battery of 7 hours for a day after full charge is enough.

Conclusion:

Sony Xperia Z4 (Z3+) is quiet a nice phone when it comes to a high end model. It cost around Rs.52,000 but with that it also brings up a lot of impressive features. It is having a sleek design, it is light and also it has a vibrant display. Somehow I find the phone a bit expensive, because if you compare all Z series in a line then you can see that Sony Xperia Z4 (Z3+) is not having a very high end change.

Still I have alternatives to go with old series and pay really less for similar hardware. That is point where Sony Xperia Z4 (Z3+) gets out from the shopping list. I do not really think that those who are using the old Sony Xperia Z phone would upgrade to Sony Xperia Z4 (Z3+) on the basis of cost.
