India is a booming market for Smartphones. There are tons of brand trying to make their place by releasing unique models with more and more features and keeping the price under a limit. With this brand we also find a few unique models that are sold internationally. Recently launched ZTE Axon is something unique and high end phone. This phone cost around Rs.30000 approx when bought directly from ZTE USA. It is a unlocked version of a high end yet very impressive phablet with many unique features. We already have some great models when we talk about a price range of Rs.30000 to Rs.35000.
But most of them phone are identical in features and specs,. ZTE Axon is bit different due to its looks, features and output. And it can be bought through pre-order from ZTE USA. The unlocked version allows you to use any sim on it. The phone brings up performance with unexpected media quality. It is rarely seen model in India, and the cost is also surprising. Big brands like Samsung, HTC, Sony, etc on the other hand if go with this features then they sell the phone for Rs.40000 to Rs.50000 approx.

Design:
ZTE Axon has a unique look with speaker bar on the front side at the top and at the bottom. This speaker features Hi-Fi audio offering you impressive sound quality when you want to watch videos or play songs on the device. The phone falls in the phablet category where it has as 5.5inch display on the front. It has touch keys at the bottom with that there is also a another panel that let you access most used apps. It has a 8MP camera on the front. The volume key is on the left side with power on the left and below lies the SIM slot. The device does not has any kind of slot for SD Card. It comes with 32GB internal that might be enough for storing data in it. This would be a negative aspect of the model. IT has a unibody design.
ZTE Axon comes in three color. They are Phthalo Blue, Ion Gold and Chromium Silver. It looks very unique in the blue color. The device has a dual camera on the back with dual led flash. There is a 13MP camera + 2MP camera on the back that looks very unique. The phone has a metal body with greater finish and it looks like a luxurious model. Most of the things are over the body. Like the micro usb port at the bottom and audio jack on the top side. It is a phablet having a big smooth touch screen support. It can be one of the best model by ZTE. The company has tried to load the device with all possible features so that you can use it well with different apps and games. You can also buy protective back cover for the device.
Display:
ZTE Axon has a 5.5inch screen. This is a TFT LCD screen that is covered with Gorilla Glass Gen 3.0. This helps you to keep the screen protected from scratches and damage. Touch response is really smooth. The device runs on updated Android 5.1 (Lollipop) OS with custom skin. The UI is designed to give you easy benefits of fast performance and customization.
The screen offers a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440 at 534 ppi. Inage and video clarity is amazing on this. It is crisp and sharp. You can play videos, you can play games and read your messages easily on the same. Viewing angles are not bad at all. The screen is amazing here. I think the custom ui plays a vital role in making the phone output better. Even after Gorilla Glass protection the device is not a water or dust proof models.
Camera:
For a phablet and a costly model it is very essential to have a decent camera. We had seen from past few days many mobile phone are coming with dual camera lens. So that they can take better pictures. This device has a 13MP back camera with additional 2MP camera. Both lens are used when you are taking pictures. There is a dual LED flash placed on the side so that you can take more clear and brighter pictures in night also.
The camera supports 4K HD resolution. This would help you to get the best quality videos. At the front it has a 8MP selfie camera. You can take impressive front images through this also. This is a 88degree wide angle camera for clear and nice pictures.
Performance:
ZTE Axon is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset. This chipset offers you to use a 2.0Ghz Octa Core processor with 4GB RAM. A few high end models that I had seen recently that goes above Rs.35000 are having max 2GB or 3GB RAM. In ZTE Axon the ram is upgraded to 4GB to get a lot more powerful output. The device offers you 32G internal storage also but does not comes with any kind of expansion slot. It runs on the latest Android 5.1 (Lollipop) OS that works very well on the high end hardware. With this ZTE also offers you AKM 4961 hifi audio output which is a kind of primary feature of this model. The phone works very well for games and multitasking is easy on the same. I do not think the device has any issue with output on multiple app usage.
Battery Life:
For battery the test was optimum. I will not say that it is very great or very bad. I had tested a lot of high end phablet and there are common things I notice. The first thing is that if you are having a big screen size then it is going to put huge impact on the battery. Like if you keep the brightness to maximum then the battery drains faster. ZTE Axon runs on 3000 mAh battery. This is not a very low end, but nice enough to give you a long day usage if you optimize the phone to work well. The device also supports Quick-charge 2.0. This helps the battery to load fast in on time.
Conclusion:
ZTE Axon cost depends on the currency conversion rate in India. On ZTE after adding all taxes the device actually cost around $487 approx. This makes around Rs.31000 approx in India. I found the phone very interesting due to its feature. If you really compare you can see that other brands models lack a good multimedia quality. They emphasize more on the screen and performance part. ZTE Axon looks an overall good model to me. The device has few limitation like it is a Single Sim phone and also it does not has an expansion slot.
