Motorola Moto X 2014 Review

After being owned by Google, Motorola found a way to sail in the market again. Motorola experimented with Moto X and Moto G smartphones last year out of which Moto X was not able to accumulate crazy crowd all over the globe as it was placed on higher end version with minimal hardware configuration compare to its competitors. On the other hand Moto G became hot favorite all over the world due to its affordable price and powerful hardware configuration.

Motorola is been adopted by Lenovo recently and Motorola has revisited with its same flagship Moto X but with lots of improvement in hardware specifications and features. New Moto X posses bigger display, powerful processor, better design and amazing camera unit but we are here to know whether the features associated with the Moto X is capable of emerging has unique smartphone as there is tough competition in market with Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z2, HTC One M8 and upcoming new Apple iPhone.

Design and Packaging:

Moto X brought the trend of colorful and textured changing back panels. User who wants to look stylish every day, Moto X is the best choice to opt with. Once again Moto X is back to boom the market with changing panels and better body frame to provide better grip on every hands. Moto X is launched to target higher segment market and with respect to that it has planned its design factor. Tough and rigid body on the front and texture and mind-blowing back panels are the key feature of design section in Moto X. Another innovation can be noticed is the metal frame along the sides to enhance the looks of the phone.

Coming to the front end side of the phone, it has big display with slimmer bezel space on both the sides of display. Above and below the display has loudspeaker grill of the phone similar to Moto E and speakers of the phone is loud and clear. Loudspeaker grill above the display acts as earpiece for sound input and besides earpiece has front facing camera of the phone, light sensors and new infrared sensors is cleverly settled to create busy looks above the display.

Below the display is only speaker of the phone and buttons like menu, home and back is included in display itself. Back panel of the phone is amazing with dimpled M-logo which anchors finger to it and above the logo has camera unit and flash. Bottom of the back has secondary microphone for capturing better audio while capturing HD videos. Sides of the phone are best improvement in design section by Motorola. Right side of the phone has Power and Volume rocker buttons and 3.5mm audio jack and micro USB slot on bottom. Design of the phone is kept clean and interesting.

Display / Screen:

New Moto X is given by 5.2-inch AMOLED display with resolution of 1080p and 424ppi pixel density. AMOLED display is best known for producing vibrant and clear output and same is demonstrated in this display too. Display size of the phone has advanced a little bit compare to its predecessor and pixel density along with resolution also been boosted up by Motorola. Display is now sharper, bigger and portrays punchy colors, good contrast ratio and tremendous viewing angles. Now watch HD videos with more brightness and well balanced RGB matrix.  Display of the phone is kept competitive against its competitors and features associated with display are just amazing.

Software and UI:

Motorola is running on Android 4.4.4 kitkat with promise to upgrade as soon as Android L will be released. The Moto X has an untouched version of Android, without any custom user interfaces. Moto Voice is one of the best apps in the phone which assist you to set any command to wake up your phone. You can also set voice command for initiating Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp messenger and also allows you to post updates by voice command. Active notification works well to notify the time and details of the missed calls on the screen. IR sensors on the front side of the phone helps you to know the missed called notifications by just moving hands over it and screen pop-ups with notifications.
