Adam Lambert and Queen Opened Last Night’s Academy Awards with a Bang

Adam Lambert Queen OscarsAdam Lambert took the stage with Queen’s original members Brian May and Roger Taylor to open the 61st Annual Academy Awards. The threesome — which have been touring together on and off for the last five years — performed Queen’s classic hits  “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions.”

Adam and Queen were there to support the nominations for the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, which told the story of the legendary band’s early years and its late frontman Freddie Mercury. Bohemian Rhapsody ultimately took home four Oscars on the night.

Adam Lambert Makes Cher Cry With Moving Tribute at Kennedy Center Honors

Adam Lambert CherMusic icon Cher was honored this year with one of the biggest accolades any American artist can receive when she was named a 2018 Kennedy Center Honoree for lifetime achievement. As part of her award ceremony, pop singer Adam Lambert stepped on stage to offer a musical tribute to one of his idols, singing Cher’s Grammy award winning track “Believe.”

For his performance, Adam rearranged the pop-dance classic into an emotional power ballad. Cher was so moved by Adam’s soulful performance, that she began crying halfway through the song. Many others in the star-studded audience looked moved as well.

Selena Gomez, Meghan Trainor And More Lend Their Voices To Tribute Song For Orlando

hands orlando tribute song cover art feature photoSelena Gomez, Meghan Trainor and many more artists have joined forces to record a tribute song for the victims of the Orlando shooting. The song, “Hands,” is available now on iTunes and proceeds will benefit GLAAD, the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida and the Equality Florida Pulse Victims Fund.

Other artists featured on the song include Adam Lambert, Halsey, and Jason Derulo. The star-studded list of collaborators continues with P!nk, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears and RuPaul. Mark Ronson helped produce the song.

FOX Teases First Look At “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”

Rocky Horror Picture Show Trailer releasedFOX has released the first teaser for its remake of the cult classic musical “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Originally released in 1975, the reboot will star Victoria Justice, Ryan Mccartan, Adam Lambert and Laverne Cox as Dr. Frank-N-Furter.

News of the remake was first reported earlier this year. The TV special is set to air this fall as a two-hour event to celebrate the film’s 40th anniversary.

Miley Cyrus Has Been Nominated For A GLAAD Media Award

Miley Cyrus GLAAD nomination-1Miley Cyrus has been having a good week. First, she was cast in the Woody Allen series for Amazon, and has now been nominated for a GLAAD Media Award. She’s in the running for “Outstanding Music Artist” along with Adam Lambert, Troye Sivan, Brandi Carlile and rapper Le1f.

The drama “Freeheld” is also among the nominees. Miley recorded the song “Hands of Love” for the film.

The 27th GLAAD Media Awards will be held in Los Angeles on April 2nd and on May 14th in New York.
