Gigi Hadid is in the U.K. prepping for a massive launch of the Fall 2017 line from Tommy X Gigi. While there, she stopped by the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw on Tuesday morning. Joined by Tommy Hilfiger, Gigi got grilled by Nick in a quiz game based on Zayn Malik’s northern accent. The host played clips of common northern English phrases for Gigi to decipher.
She fared pretty well, offering up the “California girl” translations to prove she’s a good listener. While she’s obviously been trying to Americanize Zayn, it seems like their cross-Atlantic relationship has them both rubbing off on each other. She’s even learning how to cook a proper English roast.
Liam Payne recently sat down with Scott Mills and Chris Stark for an interview with the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show. The One Direction singer opened up about his domestic life with his baby mama Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and discussed new music.
“I needed a bit of down time to get away from it all,” Liam said, explaining what he was up to as the other members of 1D were dropping new solo music. “I had a lot to do at that time.”
The timing of his son’s birth worked out, though, as he says, “We didn’t want to get in each other’s way when we had our release thing.” Liam also got to make his move after seeing where Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson succeeded and where they failed.
Harry Styles’ promotional campaign for his debut album has come full circle. When the singer premiered his first single “Sign of the Times” he gave the first interview to good friend Nick Grimshaw and he has returned for another interview discussing the tracks from “Harry Styles” once again with Nick.
The BBC Radio 1 host attempted to get Harry to confirm the rumors that the song “Two Ghosts” is in fact about Taylor Swift. In the most awkward way Harry did nothing to answer the question, but did a good job of being philosophical. “I think it’s pretty, like, self-explanatory,” he said. “I think, y’know it’s about sometimes things change and you can do all the same things… and sometimes it’s just different, y’know?”
No, Harry, people don’t know so Nick just decides to just introduce the song to listeners by calling it “the one about Taylor Swift” leading Harry to scream “ahhhh, oh no” while on air.

Ed Sheeran’s time at the BBC Radio 1 studio on Tuesday bled into Katy Perry’s interview the same day. BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show host Nick Grimshaw noticed Ed walk by the booth while kicking things off with Katy and made his presence known. The “Chained To The Rhythm” singer greeted Ed with a choice finger and just a hint of bitterness. “Thanks, babes, for keeping me off the number-one spot,” she shouted through the radio booth. Her passive aggression continued as Ed crashed the rest of the interview.
Last night gave Nick Jonas’ complicated year a run for its money. The singer was scheduled to co-host BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw, but the plan fell through due to travel complications.
Nick’s initial announcement seemed to foreshadow the dilemma. The singer tweeted, “2 Nicks and a carafe of cold brew, what could go wrong?” A few hours later, Nick followed up with his cancelation tweet. “‘What could go wrong?’ ……..you get stuck in ANOTHER COUNTRY,” the radio show host tweeted in response.
“Adjusting the album title… Last Night Was Complicated,” Nick replied.
