Google’s year-end search lists, as reported by Billboard, places Beyoncé at number one for both most-searched artist and most-searched song. Bey’s groundbreaking visual album “Lemonade” likely secured her rank in the top 10 musician search data. Céline Dion and Kesha trail closely behind in second and third place, respectively. Kesha’s standing could be attributed to the wildfire that was, and is, the messy legal battle against Sony and Dr. Luke.
Where most searched songs are concerned, Beyoncé’s “Formation” reigns supreme, even ahead of dearly departed Prince and “Purple Rain.” DNCE’s “Cake by the Ocean” appears as the sixth most searched track of the year ahead of Adele’s “Hello” at number seven.
