Macklemore Calls Out Miley Cyrus And Iggy Azalea By Name In His New Song

Last night, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis dropped a new single called “White Privilege II” off of the upcoming album “This Unruly Mess I’ve Made.” The song tackles themes stemming from the Black Lives Matter movement, and Macklemore takes a jab at artists Miley Cyrus, Elvis Presley and Iggy Azalea for cultural appropriation.

“You’ve exploited and stolen the music, the moment, the magic, the passion, the fashion / You toy with the future was never yours to make better / You’re Miley, you’re Elvis, you’re Iggy Azalea,” Macklemore raps towards the beginning of the track.

The nine-minute song was released as a free download, and its website describes the song as “the outcome of an ongoing dialogue with musicians, activists, and teachers within our community in Seattle and beyond. Their work and engagement was essential to the creative process.”

Neither Miley nor Iggy have yet to respond.
