Samsung Galaxy S3 is an amazing Flagship smartphone from Samsung release couple of years ago offering you good features for gaming and multimedia. But till yet Samsung has not given any information about the new Kitkat update for the same. Many are waiting back to receive the latest OS update. However recently Samsung rolled out Android 4.3 official OTA Update. But there is an other way of installing Kitkat 4.4 on the device. For that you have to use the unofficial rom. And the process is extremely easy through Cyanogen Mod 11. Galaxy Note 3 is a good performance phone offering you fast output and with Kitkat it will be better.

This new rom offers the latest Android Os with simple setup. The process requires rooting. Remember that after this your phone will lose all Samsung warranty. You must go ahead with the same on your own risk. I had tested the rom on S3 it works really nice. It also gives you more advice options over the existing system. The rom is fast responsive and works really well.

Pre-Requirements:

  • Download Cyanogen Mod 11 (Kitkat) for Samsung Galaxy S3

  • Check that your phone must have maximum power left. Do not go ahead with the process if battery is below 60%.
  • Install the latest Samsung USB drivers in your system.
  • To move ahead with the custom rom your phone must be rooted. If not then you have to root it and install custom recovery. You can later on verify the same through root checker app.
  • Backup all the data from your phone. Backup all the contacts and other data. If your phone is rooted you can also copy the internal rom which has factory OS. This will help you to restore old settings back if you don’t like the custom rom.
  • Keep the original Samsung usb cable ready with you.
  • There must be more than 400mb of space left in your memory card.

Installation Process:

  • Connect the mobile phone to the pc through original Samsung usb cable. If usb drivers are installed the phone will detected as media device.
  • Transfer the Rom and Gapps in the phone memory and disconnect it.
  • Reboot your phone in recovery mode. For that hold the Volume Up + Home + Power button.
  • You can now us the volume key to navigate from one place to another.
  • Under Recovery mode choose Wipe Data/Factory rest first. This will wipe out all the settings and content.
  • Then choose Wipe Cache Partition.
  • Now we will move ahead with installing the rom. For that from the main screen choose install zip from SD card.
