Samsung has launched a new tablet named “Galaxy Tab Iris” that comes with Iris security feature. Which also means the tablet will be lock with your Eye Iris. It is an Aadhaar-compliant and STQC-certified tablet PC made for government programs, enterprises, banks, education and financial institutions under ‘Make in India’ initiative. It is priced at Rs. 13,499/-
Talking about the device’s specifications, it comes out of the box with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS featuring a 7.0 inch WSVGA display with 1024 x 600 pixels resolution. Samsung has powered Galaxy Tab Iris with 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled up with 1.5GB LPDDR3 RAM from which we can surely expect pretty good performance. As per storage, it has built-in 8GB storage and supports up to 200GB microSD card for expansion.
As said, the tablet comes with Iris Camera and Subsystem for Iris security. At the rear facing, it has a 5 Megapixel Auto focus camera. As per connectivity, Galaxy Tab Iris supports basic options only including 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and USB OTG. Samsung has backed up the tablet with 3,600mAh battery.
During the launch, Samsung said “This alignment will provide a more secure authentication and verification process and help the country transition away from traditional authentication processes”.
