GSMA today launched mobile-based authentication solution called ‘Mobile Connect’. In brief, Mobile Connect can be described as a secure universal log-in solution that lets a user to create and manage a digital universal identity using single log-in solution for various sections including commerce, finance and banking, health services, media and entertainment, travel and hospitality.

Once the user has created his identity using his Unique Mobile number and a Unique Pin, he don’t need to remember usernames or passwords for all different sectors. Just remember your Mobile Connect identity and login in seconds with single sign in info. It is not only safe but also secured. In no circumstances, your personal information will never be shared without permission. Not even to any Service Provider.

Over all, 42 operators around world including 22 countries have implemented Mobile Connect, which in total is serving about 3 billion users. Since today it is also rolled out in India, the operators including Aircel, Bharti Airtel, Idea, Tata Teleservices Ltd, Telenor and Vodafone have opted in for Mobile Connect.

What makes Mobile Connect more safer is, it only uses your Mobile number to authenticate instead of personal information like address, age, mother/father name, etc etc etc. No more.
